On the afternoon of January 29, Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his wife Louise Araneta Marcos arrived in Hanoi, beginning a state visit to Vietnam from January 29-30, at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.
This is the first visit to Vietnam by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. since taking office.
Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Lai Thai Binh, and representatives of several departments and functional agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. affirms the solid strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Philippines, contributing to enhancing political trust, creating momentum to promote cooperation between the two countries, and contributing to strengthening solidarity and the central role of ASEAN.
During the visit, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos is expected to attend the official welcoming ceremony and hold talks with President Vo Van Thuong, meet with key Vietnamese leaders and participate in a number of other activities.
