Pepper price today March 5, 2025 in the domestic market is stable in key localities, trading from 156,000 - 159,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 157,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (156,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (159,200 VND/kg); Dak Nong (159,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (157,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (158,000 VND/kg).

Thus, pepper prices today remained stable in most key growing areas, with a slight increase of VND200/kg in Dak Lak. The highest pepper price was VND159,200/kg.

Domestically, farmers are harvesting the new crop. According to statistics from the agricultural sector, by the end of 2024, the pepper growing area will reach 110,500 hectares, with an average yield of 26 quintals/ha, double the global average (12.7 quintals/ha), with a total output of about 200,000 tons. Pepper export turnover in 2024 will reach 1.32 billion USD, making an important contribution to Vietnam's agricultural economy.

What is special is that although the pepper growing area in Vietnam is much smaller than other major crops such as coffee, rubber, tea and cashew, the economic value that the pepper industry brings is very high.

According to the assessment, the potential of pepper plants in particular and spices in 2025 and the following years is still very large. In the US retail market alone, the capacity has increased from 5 billion USD before the Covid-19 pandemic to 7 billion USD in the past year, and is expected to continue to increase in the coming years due to the home cooking habits of Americans. In this country, Asian and Mexican dishes are thriving and becoming new culinary trends, contributing to the continued growth of the spice market.

In 2024, Vietnam's pepper and spice exports will reach 1.7 billion USD, with pepper alone reaching 1.3 billion USD - maintaining its position as the world's largest pepper exporter. Pepper will also return to the billion-dollar export club for the first time in 10 years.

At the VIPO 2025 Conference held earlier this week, Chairman of the China Spices Association (CSA) Mike Liu said that China wants to seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises from production, processing to export. China is currently a large market for Vietnamese pepper and spices, with increasing import demand.

At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,300 USD/ton, up 0.89%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 6,850 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,700 USD/ton.

Muntok white pepper price is 10,136 USD/ton, up 1.75%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 12,200 USD/ton.

Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,900 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,900 USD/ton.
