At the meeting, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva emphasized the important significance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit.
The Brazilian leader believes that the visit will contribute to bringing the traditional friendship and good cooperation between the two countries to a new height in the coming time.
President Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Brazilian ministers attending the talks expressed their admiration for the country and people of Vietnam in the struggle for national independence and in the country's current national construction.
He stressed that the Brazilian people are always inspired by the courage and indomitable will of the Vietnamese people.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to its relationship with Brazil, a leading important partner of Vietnam in the Latin American region.
The two sides agreed to continue to increase visits and contacts at high and all levels through all channels of the Party, State, Government and National Assembly.
This includes the early organization of the 3rd meeting of the Vietnam - Brazil Joint Committee on Economic - Trade Cooperation and striving to increase bilateral turnover to 10 billion USD by 2025 and 15 billion USD by 2030.
The two sides agreed to continue promoting the launch of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).
This agreement will create momentum to enhance business, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, strengthening inter-regional economic links.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Brazil to facilitate the increase of imports of Vietnamese goods to contribute to balancing the trade balance between the two countries.
The head of the Government also proposed to soon complete the process of Brazil recognizing Vietnam's market economy status and promote the signing of a double taxation avoidance agreement.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of defense and security, and coordinate in multilateral mechanisms and activities in which both sides participate.
The two leaders highly appreciated the important documents related to the fields of diplomacy, education and training, defense, agriculture, culture, etc. signed on the occasion of this visit.
Vietnam and Brazil will promote cooperation in the fields of transnational crime prevention, sports, football, innovation, digital transformation, green development, renewable energy, climate change response, biofuels, conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity of tropical forests, and cooperation in protecting the Mekong - Amazon river ecosystem.
At the end of the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Brazilian President Lula da Silva issued a joint communique on the visit. The two leaders witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents between the two countries and met with the press.
