Aeon Mall Vietnam averages more than 2.1 billion profit per day

In 2024, Aeon Mall's profit in Vietnam increased by 8.6% to 4.23 billion yen, equivalent to 3,176 billion VND, or an average of more than 2.1 billion VND per day.

According to Aeon Mall's fiscal year 2024 report (March 1, 2024 - February 28, 2025), last year the group recorded revenue of 17.3 billion yen in the Vietnamese market, equivalent to more than 3,176 billion VND. This level increased by more than 13% compared to the previous year. Vietnam is also the market that brings in the highest revenue for Aeon Mall in Southeast Asia and the second in foreign countries, after China.

After deducting expenses, Aeon Mall recorded an 8.6% increase in profit to 4.23 billion yen. This figure is equivalent to nearly 776.7 billion VND, equivalent to the company earning an average profit of more than 2.1 billion VND per day in the Vietnamese market.

This level is only less than Aeon Mall's profit in the Chinese market, about 10.7%, although the revenue here is nearly 4 times higher than in Vietnam. This also shows that the Vietnamese market is bringing better profit margins to the Japanese giant.

By the beginning of this year, the Japanese retail group had eight shopping malls in Vietnam with a total leasable floor area of ​​462,000 square meters. Aeon Vietnam CEO Furusawa Yasuyuki once said that the group had poured about 1.5 billion USD into Vietnam after more than 10 years.

Most recently - in mid-February, Aeon started construction of a shopping mall in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh . This unit aims to open the complex in the second half of next year.

In March, Aeon Vietnam also received the transfer of a VND1,170 billion commercial center project in Hai Duong from Tuan Kiet HD Company. The location of this commercial center is still in Lien Hong commune and Thach Khoi ward, Hai Duong city with an area of ​​over 3,500 m2. Aeon's shopping mall is expected to be completed and put into operation from the third quarter of 2026.

The group may start construction of a shopping mall in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city on the occasion of the April 30 holiday. The project has an investment capital of 230 million USD, with a total floor area of ​​about 195,000 m2.
