Actor Huu Thanh Tung is widely known to audiences through the films Family is Number 1, Red Sand, Sister 13 or his roles on the Young World stage.

Besides his passion for acting, Huu Thanh Tung also loves painting. He spends most of his free time after filming to paint.

Huu Thanh Tung told Tuoi Tre Online that he started painting in 2020. Up to now, he has held many group exhibitions with other painters and artists.

Huu Thanh Tung tells his life story through paintings

Exhibition TUNG - River, Dream, Colorful Clouds, Passing Seasons is one of the opening activities of a series of creative projects pursuing contemporary art by actor Huu Thanh Tung.

This exhibition features 50 original paintings, created in the expansive fields of painting, sculpture… and abstraction.

Huu Thanh Tung shared that these paintings represent the stages of his life, and the audience can also feel the author's inner thoughts.

"I have been working on this collection for four years. The content of the paintings is emotions and stories about things I have experienced and are drawn.

I pursue abstract paintings, hoping everyone will have the same feelings as me.

Regarding color, I always choose bright colors to express freshness and positivity. Depending on the viewer's perception, they will recognize the meaning of each painting" - Huu Thanh Tung told Tuoi Tre Online.

The actor confessed that he came to painting out of passion and self-study, so he "doesn't consider himself an artist".

Pursuing abstract painting

The exhibition is divided into four main themes: The River symbolizes the constant change of life; Dream represents the flow of dreams, aspirations and free creativity; Colorful Clouds evoke the multi-colored emotions that create the beauty of life and Passing Seasons displays moments and times of each season of the year.

The exhibition also displays visual art inspired by Huu Thanh Tung from the films he has acted in.

Huu Thanh Tung said he is just a person who practices painting, not daring to call himself an artist.

He explained the title of the exhibition: "I named the exhibition "Tung" because this is a very serious first step in practicing painting. On the path of art, people may have seen me acting in movies, now it's the story of painting."

As a supporter of Huu Thanh Tung's pursuit of painting, actor Hua Vi Van said: "I have observed Tung since his first days of painting. Having witnessed his entire journey, I feel very happy when Tung launches this exhibition."
