According to data from the Ha Tinh Statistics Office, in the first 5 months of 2023, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the area reached more than VND 28,212 billion, an increase of 20.3% over the same period last year.
In the first 5 months of 2023, total retail sales of goods reached more than 23,547 billion VND, an increase of 19.34% over the same period last year.
Specifically, retail sales of goods reached more than VND 23,547 billion, up 19.3% over the same period last year. Essential goods groups increased sharply such as: food and foodstuff reached VND 10,848 billion, up 26.7%; gasoline and oil of all kinds reached VND 2,921 billion, up 34.7%; household appliances and equipment reached more than VND 2,422 billion, up 27.6%; garment reached more than VND 1,236 billion, up 36%...
Among the retail groups listed, only two groups saw a decrease in revenue compared to the same period last year: passenger cars down 17.3% and other means of transport down 36.6%. According to the analysis of the General Statistics Office, these are non-essential items, with reduced demand, partly due to high credit interest rates and the amount of capital tied up in the real estate market. However, the proportion of retail revenue in these two groups is not high, so they do not have a large impact on the overall growth of total retail sales of goods in the province.
Food service revenue in the first 5 months of the year reached more than 2,727 billion VND, up 24.6% over the same period last year.
Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and tourism services reached VND2,852.3 billion, up 25.2% over the same period last year. Of which, accommodation reached VND106.60 billion, up 24.9%; food and beverage reached over VND2,727 billion, up 24.6%; tourism reached VND18.5 billion, up 351.3% over the same period last year.
Revenue from other services reached VND 1,812.8 billion, up 25.7% over the same period last year; in which, revenue groups with high and strong growth were: real estate business group increased by 22.6%; administration and support services increased by 44.7%; arts, entertainment and recreation increased by 149.8%...
Vibrant tourism activities contribute to increased revenue from retail and consumer services.
The assessment of the functional sector also shows that the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased quite high compared to the same period last year because the COVID-19 epidemic no longer has much impact on the production, business and circulation of goods.
In addition, the impact of the sunny weather affects the revenue of refrigeration products, clothing, beverages, and food, increasing consumer demand. The seasonal factor of peak sea tourism business also increases the revenue of seafood, beverages, clothing, and souvenirs.
In addition, in the first months of the year, coinciding with major holidays, the demand for entertainment increases, accommodation service businesses and restaurants welcome many tourists to relax and eat, so revenue increases.
