Lao leaders highly appreciated the sacrifices of former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who did not spare their blood and bones, fighting side by side with Lao soldiers and people.

From September 22-26, the delegation of former volunteer soldiers and military experts of Vietnam helping Laos, led by Major General Huynh Dac Huong - Head of the National Liaison Committee of former volunteer soldiers and military experts of Vietnam helping Laos - visited Laos at the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense of this country. On the afternoon of September 23, in the capital Vientiane, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos Chansamone Chanyalath and Head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongsavanh Phomvihane had cordial meetings with the delegation. According to the VNA correspondent in Laos, in the warm and fraternal atmosphere, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos Chansamone Chanyalath and Head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongsavanh Phomvihane all expressed their joy and emotion at receiving the delegation; affirmed that the delegation's visit to Laos this time is of great significance, contributing to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam. Lao leaders highly appreciated the sacrifices of former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who did not spare their blood and bones, fought side by side with Lao soldiers and people, and fought against the invaders until the country was completely liberated, regaining independence for the people of the two countries.

General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith welcomed the National Liaison Committee of Former Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts of Vietnam to help Laos always actively promote its responsibility and role, continue to contribute to preserving and nurturing the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam, Vietnam and Laos, founded by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong, and continued to be developed by generations of leaders of the two countries. General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the people of Laos and Vietnam have always been strong and constantly developing in all fields. Leaders of the two Parties and States from the central to local levels, as well as the people of Laos and Vietnam, regularly exchange visits, vividly demonstrating the special relationship between the two countries. Meanwhile, General Chansamone Chanyalath - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos - on behalf of the Lao Government and Ministry of National Defense highly appreciated and thanked the extremely valuable assistance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam in general, emphasizing the great sacrifices of blood and bones in Laos by former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts, which not only helped the Lao revolution gain complete independence on December 2, 1975, but also contributed to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, Vietnam and Laos, a unique relationship in the world.

At the receptions, Major General Huynh Dac Huong sincerely thanked the General Secretary, President of Laos; Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Laos and Head of the Central External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party for taking the time to receive the delegation; expressed his joy to return to visit the brotherly country of Laos, to return to the old battlefield, where former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who helped Laos fought side by side, sharing the good and the bad with the Lao army and people in the battles against the common enemy. According to Major General Huynh Dac Huong, the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos was built with the blood, sweat and efforts of generations of leaders, of the army and people of the two countries, truly becoming a priceless asset of the two peoples, a unique relationship in world history. The brotherhood and comradeship, sharing the good and the bad between former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who helped Laos and the Lao Party, State and people will always remain intact. In the spirit of mutual love, at the Lao Ministry of Defense Headquarters, Major General Huynh Dac Huong, on behalf of the delegation, donated 10 million VND to Lao people in the areas affected by the recent floods to encourage and share the difficulties.

Earlier the same day, the delegation of former volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese military experts helping Laos visited the Lao People's Army's National Culture School. Here, Major General Huynh Dac Huong, on behalf of the delegation, presented 35 sets of computers to the school to serve teaching and learning, with the hope that generations of students of the school will become talented people, contributing to the construction and development of Laos, continuing the cause of preserving and continuing to develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Laos and Vietnam effectively, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, so that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos will forever be "unique" in the world.
