On the afternoon of April 9, right after the 5th Conference of the Presidents of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam Fatherland Front, in the capital Vientiane (Laos), General Secretary - President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith cordially received the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Chairman Do Van Chien.
At the meeting, Mr. Do Van Chien reported to the General Secretary and President of Laos on the results of cooperation between the two agencies of the Vietnam - Laos Front in recent times, as well as the great success of the 5th Conference of Presidents of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam Fronts that took place previously.
Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, Laos will overcome current difficulties.
The Lao people and country continue to gain even greater new achievements, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress and the 9th Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period, successfully organizing the Party Congress at three levels towards the 12th National Party Congress; successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous Laos according to socialist goals.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements in the Vietnam - Laos cooperation relationship in recent times in various fields.
Expressing gratitude for the great support and assistance that the Lao Party, State and Fatherland Front have given to Vietnam over the past time, Mr. Do Van Chien affirmed: "The Party, State and people of Vietnam in general, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front in particular, will make every effort to accompany, stand side by side and support the brotherly country of Laos, together overcome challenges as well as be determined to preserve, nurture and develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos".
The two sides will continue to promote practical activities, strengthen extensive propaganda to all classes of people about the special relationship, glorious and heroic history of Vietnam - Laos relations, raise awareness and responsibility of each individual in jointly cultivating and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Do Van Chien said that in the coming time, within its capacity, Vietnam will continue to support, assist and back Laos to successfully fulfill its role as ASEAN Chair, contributing to constantly enhancing Laos' position and prestige in the region and the world.
“May the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos remain forever green and sustainable,” said the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith welcomed and highly appreciated the working results between the three Front organizations of the three countries, affirming that this will contribute to further deepening the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.
In the coming time, the two organizations of the Lao - Vietnam Front in particular and the three organizations of the Lao - Cambodia - Vietnam Front in general need to continue to coordinate closely, increase information and experience exchange, and cooperate and help each other.
General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith also welcomed the initiative of a mechanism to organize rotating conferences of the Presidents of the Fatherland Fronts of the three countries along with an annual meeting mechanism between the leaders of the Parties and Governments of the three countries.
“Through this, it can be said that our three countries need to meet each other more often, listen to each other, share experiences and implement the policies of the leaders of the three parties and together with the governments of the three countries, contribute to socio-economic development in each country and bring the people closer together,” said General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
The 5th Conference of Chairmen of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam Front is a meaningful activity in the long-term, stable and developing cooperation relationship between the three Front organizations of Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam.
Attending the conference were Ms. Samdech Mem Sam An, President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland; Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction and Mr. Do Van Chien, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung, and many staff members of the 3 Front organizations of the 3 countries.
The 5th Conference of the Presidents of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam Fronts was successful and achieved good results. The three sides agreed to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on the Cooperation Program for the period 2024 - 2027 within the framework of the conference.
In the coming time, the three Front organizations will focus on coordinating to effectively implement the contents of the signed Memorandum of Understanding, especially strengthening professional cooperation activities, exchanging work experiences; actively propagating and educating the people, especially the young generation, about the spirit of great friendship and special solidarity between Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam.
