Organizing activities in response to the 14th ASEAN Dengue Day

The Department of Health has just issued a Plan to organize activities in response to the 14th ASEAN Dengue Fever Prevention and Control Day (June 15, 2024) in Dak Lak province.

Accordingly, from June 10 to June 30, 2024, a community-based campaign to eradicate mosquito larvae to prevent dengue fever will take place in the entire province, including 184 communes, wards and towns of 15 districts, towns and cities.

Conduct disinfection spraying of dengue fever outbreak.

The implementation is divided into 2 phases: phase 1 takes place one week before ASEAN Dengue Prevention and Control Day, from June 10 to June 15, 2024; phase 2 takes place one week after ASEAN Dengue Prevention and Control Day, from June 16 to June 22, 2024; continue to maintain activities once a week in high-risk areas, once every 2 weeks in the remaining areas...

The plan is implemented to strengthen the leadership, direction, close, synchronous and effective coordination of Party committees and authorities at all levels and support from all levels and sectors in the work of preventing and controlling dengue fever; mobilize departments, sectors, political and social organizations, organizations, individuals and enterprises to participate in the work of preventing and controlling dengue fever with the goal of minimizing the number of cases and deaths due to dengue fever in the area; prevent the spread of the disease in the community in places at risk of outbreaks during the peak season of dengue fever; strengthen communication on dengue fever prevention and control, integrate other activities so that people actively respond to disease prevention measures for individuals and the community.

The plan sets out specific goals: 100% of communes, wards and towns organize communication activities to prevent and control dengue fever; 100% of households, agencies, businesses and schools in communes at risk are inspected and instructed to implement measures to prevent and control dengue fever; over 90% of households, agencies, businesses and schools in the area are deployed without mosquito larvae after implementing a community-based campaign to kill mosquito larvae to prevent and control dengue fever; 100% of dengue fever cases/outbreaks are detected and handled according to regulations...
