Kon Plong District Police (Kon Tum) and several local units in Dak Po and Mang Yang districts of Gia Lai province have successfully searched for and rescued a father and son who were trapped in the forest after many days of losing contact.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 7, Kon Plong District Police received a report from Ms. T. (born in 1988, residing in Mang Canh Commune, Kon Plong District, Kon Tum) that her husband, Mr. H. (born in 1984) and daughter, V. (born in 2013, both residing in Mang Canh Commune) had been away from home for many days, could not be contacted, and their whereabouts are currently unknown.

According to Ms. T, a few days ago, due to a family conflict, Mr. H. showed unusual behavior. Afterwards, H. drove a 7-seat, silver-gray car with his 10-year-old daughter to an unknown destination.

Realizing that the case was serious, because Mr. H. was from Ho Chi Minh City and had no relatives in the area, Kon Plong District Police directed professional teams, the town police, and neighboring communes to coordinate with local authorities to cordon off the area and search for Mr. H. and his niece.

Authorities have divided into several teams and used drones to search the suspected areas. However, the search efforts have been ineffective.

On the morning of January 8, Kon Plong District Police contacted V. via mobile phone and learned that H. had been in a coma for many hours, so V. was very confused and scared. The father and son were in a car in a forest area with pine and acacia trees, with no residents around. Because V. was still young, he could not give directions to the authorities to search for him.

From the limited information above, using professional measures, Kon Plong District Police determined that Mr. H. and the child are currently in the border area between Dak Po and Mang Yang districts of Gia Lai province, so they focused their search forces in this direction.

With the support of local authorities of Dak Po and Mang Yang districts (Gia Lai province), at 6:00 p.m. the same day, Kon Plong district police found Mr. H. and V. at the edge of the forest in Mang Yang district.

At the time of discovery, Mr. H. was in a coma and unconscious. V. was conscious but in a state of confusion and fear. Kon Plong District Police quickly took the father and son to Mang Yang District Medical Center for a health check.

Here, the doctor determined that Mr. H. had high blood pressure and was in a coma due to not eating for many days, while V. was in normal health.

After being examined and given IV fluids, Mr. H. recovered and became conscious. When his health was stable, Mr. H. and his daughter were brought home safely by the Kon Plong District Police and the local authorities of Mang Canh Commune.
