Currently, the crew members are on tugboat SG 6177 and anchored at the location where the barge sank. After receiving the information, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed border posts and Squadron 2 to notify ships and fishermen operating at sea of the location of the sunken barge Thai Binh Duong 05, to proactively observe and avoid collision.
Mui Ne Border Guard Station has just received information from Mr. Vo Van Muoi (born in 1975, residing at 125/158 Nguyen Thi Tan Street, Ward 2, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City), manager of Thai Binh Duong Company, about the sunken barge Thai Binh Duong 05 in Mui Ne waters.
Accordingly, on August 5, barge Thai Binh Duong 05, registration number SG 7442 belonging to Thai Binh Duong Shipping Services Company Limited, carried about 300 tons of HI iron in the form of columns, and was towed by tugboat with registration number SG 6177. On the tugboat were 3 crew members led by Mr. Tran Van Bup (born in 1982, residing in Long Huu Dong, Can Duoc, Long An). The ship departed from Nha Trang port on a journey to Ho Chi Minh City to deliver the goods. At about 5:00 a.m. on August 8, while traveling through the waters of Binh Thuan, about 4 nautical miles south of Mui Ne coast, it encountered an incident and stopped to fix it. After that, the barge was sunk by big waves and strong winds, with no casualties. Currently, the crew members are on tugboat SG 6177 and anchored at the location where the barge sank.
After receiving the information, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the border posts and Squadron 2 to notify ships and fishermen operating at sea of the location of the Pacific 05 barge in distress, to proactively observe and avoid collisions. Coordinate with the Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority and relevant authorities to support the handling. Notify the vehicle owner, work with the captain to clarify information related to the vehicle and goods; request procedures and measures to salvage the Pacific 05 barge.
The Provincial Border Guard Command and Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority are continuing to monitor and coordinate with relevant parties to deploy measures to provide information, warnings, and signals to ensure traffic safety in the sea area where the sunken barge is located; together with Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority, they will support and resolve related procedures for the vehicle owner to salvage the Pacific 05 barge in accordance with regulations.
