Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai has just signed a document requesting a number of departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province to implement Official Dispatch No. 1643/BNN-KL dated March 8, 2024 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on strengthening forest management, protection, and forest fire prevention and fighting (PCCC).
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and local People's Committees to urgently and seriously implement measures to manage and protect forests, prevent forest fires and prevent deforestation, encroachment, destruction and illegal exploitation of forests.
Previously, the content of Official Dispatch No. 1643 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to investigate and strictly handle violations of deforestation and illegal encroachment of forest land, especially violations detected by functional forces and reported by the media. Fight and crack down on "ringleaders" who illegally buy, sell, transport, and store timber, wild animals, and other forest products and strictly handle them according to regulations.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of the provinces to urgently complete the allocation of land, forests, and forests leasing associated with the issuance of forestry land use right certificates by 2026, ensuring that all forest and land areas planned for forestry development must be allocated and leased to real forest owners. Regarding the weather situation, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that the Southern region will have hot weather on March 27-28 with temperatures at 1pm ranging from 35-36 degrees Celsius. Due to the effects of hot weather combined with low humidity, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity and the risk of forest fires.
