On the afternoon of March 18, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman, General Director of Trump Organization's projects in Vietnam.
The project of urban complex, eco-tourism, sports and high-end golf course in Hung Yen province, providing services according to the highest standards of Trump Organization, has a total estimated investment of about 1.5 billion USD, proposed by the investor as a joint venture of Hung Yen Investment and Development Group Joint Stock Company and IDG Capital (representing Trump Organization).
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that since Vietnam and the United States became Comprehensive Strategic Partners in September 2023, bilateral economic and trade relations have continued to develop sustainably. However, US investment in Vietnam still has much room to continue to grow. The Prime Minister expects US investors to continue to increase new investments and expand their investments in Vietnam.
Appreciating the businesses' interest in investing in projects in Hung Yen province, the Prime Minister said that Vietnamese agencies will consider comprehensively to promote the project as soon as possible, in accordance with relevant legal regulations, ensuring the interests of the parties involved.
Vietnam is also promoting administrative procedure reform, making decisions faster, with a spirit of valuing time, promoting intelligence and decisiveness, bringing about specific, quantifiable products, results and benefits.
The Prime Minister suggested that the Trump Organization consider Vietnam as a business base, research and expand investment and business activities to other localities in Vietnam, potential areas where the enterprise has strengths and Vietnam is interested in, prioritize promotion; strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, support Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the ecosystem and supply chain of the group globally.
The Prime Minister also asked businesses to have a voice to contribute to promoting high-level visits between the two countries; the United States has policies suitable to the bilateral relationship, the situation in Vietnam and the world context, continuing steps towards recognizing Vietnam as a market economy and creating conditions for Vietnam to import high-tech equipment from the United States.
For his part, Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman thanked the support and close cooperation of the ministries and Hung Yen province, saying that he is working closely with the agencies with the desire to speed up the project as soon as possible; hoping that the project will be completed in the next 2 years (March 2027) to serve the APEC 2027 occasion, becoming the leading golf course in Vietnam and a globally famous golf destination.
He also said that the company is researching investment in other projects and fields in Vietnam; promoting visits by the Trump Group's Board of Directors to Vietnam and contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries, building a high-quality image of Vietnam to the world and the US government.
