The 2025 enrollment season continues to record many new training programs and majors that universities plan to open to meet practical needs as well as attract learners.
While waiting for the Ministry of Education and Training to announce the university admission regulations for 2025, many schools have made tentative adjustments to their admission plans. Many schools have opened new training programs and majors, and increased admission combinations in line with the 2018 General Education Program.
The University of Commerce has issued an official enrollment plan for 2025. The new point this year is that the school will not consider admission based on academic results for students from specialized schools and national key high schools. The school will keep other methods the same, only adjusting them technically.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Head of Communications and Admissions Department, University of Commerce said that, in addition to maintaining the traditional combinations, the school added new admission combinations related to the elective subjects for the high school graduation exam, including: Math, English, plus elective subjects: History, Geography, Information Technology, Technology, Economic and Legal Education.
In 2025, the school will develop 7 more international career-oriented training programs, aiming to equip students with both professional skills and foreign language ability upon graduation, to participate in the international labor market.
In addition, the school plans to have 2 more international dual degree programs in Marketing and Business Administration, and 1 advanced technology transfer program.
Regarding the reason for opening the new program, Mr. Trung said that the University of Commerce always updates and innovates the training program in line with practice to meet the needs of businesses.
Regarding the 2025 enrollment plan, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Ha - Head of Public Relations and Business, University of Mining and Geology said that this year, the school will enroll 58 training majors, including 6 new majors: English Language, Chinese Language, Materials Engineering, Space Engineering, Urban and Construction Management; Mineral Resources Management.
The school also plans to double the number of admission combinations compared to last year.
Explaining the opening of new majors, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Viet Ha said: "The opening of new majors by the school is based on surveys of relevant parties, especially the actual job position needs, meeting the development of the economy and society."
In addition, the school will have some adjustments to the admission method. Specifically, the school will use the results of the capacity assessment of Hanoi National University, in addition to the thinking assessment score of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In the method of considering academic records, candidates need to have good conduct or better, with an average score of three subjects in a combination of 6 semesters. The average score of subjects in the exam group of 6 semesters must be 18 points or higher. Last year, the school only considered the score of three semesters.
In 2025, the Academy of Finance plans to open new majors in the standard program, including: Political economy - finance; Economic law; Financial mathematics; Data science in finance; Artificial intelligence in financial accounting. The 9 new majors in the international certificate-oriented program are: Banking; Financial investment; Tax and tax administration; Management accounting and management control; Public accounting; Real estate valuation and business; International business; Business administration; Investment economics.
Dr. Trinh Thanh Huyen - Director of the International Training Institute, Academy of Finance informed that from the 2025 - 2026 school year, the joint training program between the Academy of Finance and Greenwich University (UK) will have an additional Entrepreneurship subject in the training program.
After gaining knowledge of corporate finance, students will learn how to write a startup proposal. In addition, students studying this program will have a lot of practical experience, get acquainted with the labor market early and easily catch up with work after graduation.
2025 is the first year that students will take the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program with many changes in exam content, leading to certain changes in the university and college admission process. Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of Education and Training said that this year, many universities have changed their admission combinations, so the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training are also flexible.
According to Mr. Son, these changes aim to create the best conditions for students, building a fairer, more transparent and favorable environment during the exam and admission process.
The 2025 university admission regulations are expected to be announced in March.
Giving advice to candidates in choosing a major, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son noted that they need to carefully consider based on their passion, ability and the practical needs of society in the future. At the same time, they should proactively equip themselves with necessary skills such as foreign languages, digital skills, critical thinking and a spirit of lifelong learning to continuously improve.
