Japanese Prime Minister Kishida's office posted a video on social media on August 30, showing Kishida eating fish caught from Fukushima. After chewing a slice of sashimi, Kishida said it was "delicious," and urged viewers to enjoy "safe and delicious" Japanese seafood to support the Fukushima region.

The video, set to cheerful music, shows the Japanese Prime Minister and three ministers in his office. Mr. Kishida's lunch was aimed at dispelling concerns about the safety of Japanese seafood following the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster.
After a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi said Mr. Kishida ate sashimi made from sea bass, flounder, and octopus, along with rice harvested from rice grown in Fukushima.
Mr. Nishimura, who is in charge of nuclear policy, told several reporters that it was “necessary to inform people at home and abroad” about the safety of seafood caught in the sea area near the Fukushima plant.
Mr. Kishida also said the government will announce a relief package for domestic fishermen later this week.
