On the afternoon of November 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte attended the Vietnam - Netherlands High-Tech Business Forum at the Samsung Group's Research and Development (R&D) Center.
Speaking at the event, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte expressed his delight that after only 11 months of his visit to Vietnam, Vietnam already had an Innovation Center and a Research and Development Center.
The Dutch Prime Minister said that during his visit to Vietnam this time, he was accompanied by a delegation of nearly 30 leading Dutch high-tech enterprises. Many Dutch high-tech companies have begun investment projects, and many other enterprises are researching and will invest and cooperate in Vietnam.
Mr. Mark Rutte believes that there will be more and more such businesses coming to Vietnam because Vietnam has great potential and favorable conditions to move up to a higher position in the global supply chain.
To attract businesses, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam ensures a stable political, security, and macroeconomic environment for investors to operate long-term.
Vietnam will continue to improve institutions, mechanisms, and policies, promote administrative procedure reform, and train high-quality human resources, thereby creating convenience, reducing compliance costs, logistics costs, and enhancing business competitiveness.
With the Netherlands, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the two sides have a very good relationship and this is the basis for both sides to have confidence and expectations in promoting economic, trade and investment relations to be better and better. At the same time, businesses of the two countries will strengthen connections, sharing and confidence to invest.
The Prime Minister suggested that Dutch high-tech corporations learn from Samsung’s experience and continue to actively coordinate with Vietnam to expand cooperation and investment activities, actively contribute to perfecting policies, research and transfer technology, and train high-quality human resources; and jointly implement effective and successful business cooperation activities, bringing practical benefits to the two countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also suggested that Dutch enterprises soon have specific plans to invest and connect with Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of high-tech agriculture, new energy, renewable energy, semiconductor chips, climate change adaptation, etc. through modern technology projects with high added value and competitiveness, capable of participating in the global value chain.
"We are committed that your investment in Vietnam will be successful, especially in the fields of high technology, circular economy, green economy, sharing economy, digital transformation... Vietnam will protect the legitimate rights and interests of investors in any circumstances," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
Agreeing with the Dutch Prime Minister, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that this will be a milestone for a new beginning, a new breakthrough in the relationship between the two countries as well as the trilateral relationship between Vietnam - the Netherlands and other partners such as South Korea.
