Prime Minister shares 3 messages, 3 orientations, 3 focuses at "Dien Hong Conference"

Listening to overseas Vietnamese give advice on developing the country

Attending and speaking at the conference, the Prime Minister expressed his delight at the presence of a large number of Vietnamese intellectuals, experts, and businesses abroad.

The Head of Government said that these are the leading birds who have led the overseas Vietnamese movement, with extremely valuable contributions to the country; in addition, there are many young, dynamic, successful faces, "old bamboo, young bamboo", always carrying in their hearts a passionate love for their homeland and country and a desire to contribute to the development of the country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that this is an opportunity to meet and reunite to discuss important and practical issues regarding the country's development in the coming years.

At the same time, to listen to the thoughts, aspirations, and valuable contributions of Vietnamese people abroad.

The Prime Minister recalled the words of beloved President Ho Chi Minh expressing national love and compatriotism: "The Fatherland and the Government always miss our compatriots, like parents miss their absent children. That is the human heart and the natural order, that is the love of a family".

Acknowledging the delegates' dedicated, responsible and practical opinions, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and relevant agencies to fully synthesize and absorb the opinions.

From there, proactively have appropriate and timely solutions according to functions, tasks and authority, creating more favorable conditions for our compatriots abroad. Timely report to competent authorities on issues beyond authority.

After analyzing the world and domestic situation, with difficulties, challenges and opportunities, the head of the Government emphasized that after nearly 40 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved important and historic achievements, as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed, "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, prestige and international position as it does today."

Accordingly, social security and people's lives are improved; politics and society are stable; national defense and security are strengthened; foreign affairs and international integration are promoted and enhanced.

The Prime Minister affirmed that these achievements were thanks to the close leadership and direction of the Central Committee, directly and regularly by the Politburo and the Secretariat; the participation of the entire political system; the support and assistance of international friends; especially the joint efforts and unanimity of the people of the whole country and 6 million of our compatriots abroad.

3 messages, 3 directions, 3 focuses

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh informed about 6 major orientations for national development in the coming time; based on the consistent viewpoints of the Party, State and the contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community.

Along with that, the Prime Minister shared 3 messages for the people, along with 3 orientations and 3 focuses in the work related to Vietnamese people abroad.

Regarding the three messages, the Prime Minister emphasized that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part and a resource of the Vietnamese national community. This is a consistent and continuous policy of our Party and State.

2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the declaration of independence and the 50th anniversary of national reunification, which will be an opportunity to promote and uphold the spirit of great solidarity and national harmony, looking towards the future.

Besides, the country expects and trusts the Vietnamese community abroad in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland - a great source of strength for the nation.

The Prime Minister affirmed: "The success of our compatriots is also the success of the country - the country is proud of our compatriots abroad. The country cherishes the sentiments, listens thoroughly, sees clearly and understands all the thoughts and aspirations and highly appreciates the valuable contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community for the homeland and the country."

Regarding the three orientations, the Prime Minister stated that work on overseas Vietnamese must fully demonstrate and promote the tradition of great national unity. All policies must thoroughly grasp this spirit.

Besides, it promotes the great resources and patriotism of our compatriots abroad towards the homeland; at the same time, it demonstrates more strongly, positively and effectively the sentiment, trust and responsibility of our Party and State in caring for the Vietnamese community abroad.

Work for overseas Vietnamese must be synchronous, comprehensive, inclusive and clearly defined as the responsibility of the entire political system and the entire population, combining the building of mechanisms and policies with community mobilization and support work.

Regarding the three main focuses, the Prime Minister requested relevant units to support overseas Vietnamese to stabilize their lives, do business with peace of mind, integrate well and develop strongly in the host society; build a strong and cohesive community; protect the legitimate rights and interests of the overseas Vietnamese community both at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister noted that it is necessary to promote and at the same time find new motivations to connect the community with each other and between the community and the homeland and the country; constantly innovate methods of supporting and mobilizing the overseas Vietnamese community to promote their own potential and strengths to contribute to the homeland and the country.

At the same time, he emphasized that the Party, State and Government will always create conditions and ensure the legitimate rights of people regarding land, housing, nationality, residence, investment and business environment, etc.

On that basis, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to continue to promote their role as a "common home", a trusted address for our compatriots, and a bridge to bring them closer to the Fatherland. Ministries, sectors and localities receive, respond to and practically apply the opinions and contributions of our compatriots.

To the Vietnamese community abroad, the Prime Minister sent the message "Please continue to be ambassadors of Vietnam, making the Vietnamese people, the descendants of the Dragon and Fairy, famous", promoting and spreading Vietnamese culture and the values of the Vietnamese people.
