On October 28, the Ministry of Health issued a decision on the transfer and appointment of the Deputy Director in charge of professional matters and the assignment of responsibility, management and operation of the Bien Hoa Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry (located in Dong Nai province).
Bien Hoa Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry is located in Dong Nai.
Specifically, the Ministry of Health has assigned and appointed Mr. Hoang Viet Hai, a specialist in psychiatry, forensic psychiatric examiner, Head of the Department of Examination and Paraclinical Medicine of the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, to hold the position of Deputy Director in charge of professional matters and assigned him to be in charge of, manage and operate the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry in Bien Hoa. The appointment period is 5 years, starting from November 1, 2024.
Previously, as reported by Giao Thong Newspaper, in June 2024, the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes (C02 - Ministry of Public Security) coordinated with professional units and local police to crack down on a case of bribery, bribery, and bribery brokerage to create false psychiatric medical records and psychiatric examination conclusions for criminals at the Bien Hoa Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry.
C02 arrested 15 people, including many leaders and officers of the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry in Bien Hoa.
These people were investigated for acts of bribery, bribery acceptance, bribery brokerage to create psychiatric records, false psychiatric assessment conclusions for criminals, and were sentenced to prison to deal with the authorities.
Currently, the authorities are still investigating this case.
Bien Hoa Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry is located in Tan Phong ward, Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai), established in 2015 on the basis of upgrading the Southern Branch of the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry.
The Institute conducts forensic psychiatric examinations in accordance with the provisions of law; manages and treats subjects with mental disorders in accordance with decisions on compulsory medical treatment by the prosecution agencies.
Examine and treat mentally ill patients in need, participate in postgraduate training in forensic psychiatry. At the same time, it is also a place to foster professional skills for doctors and forensic psychiatric assessors.
The Institute has a scale of 250 beds with 7 specialized departments, performing forensic psychiatric examinations for 10 provinces including: Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long. At the same time, it is responsible for directly providing professional guidance for three forensic psychiatric centers in Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Highlands and the Southwest.
