Candidates expect good results

At the Le Quy Don School Exam Site, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Thi Kim Tuyen, a student at the Continuing Education Center of District 3, Ho Chi Minh City happily said: “I think I did well on the test, including the Foreign Language subject this afternoon, but there were some advanced questions in Math that were a bit “unsteady”. I think the questions from yesterday until now are very suitable, especially the Literature subject. I like the Literature subject the most, because I think it is interesting. If I had more time, I would write more”.

“Because the Literature topic on the topic of Country has many things to praise but the time is too short. The same goes for the reading comprehension. In general, I like all the sentences in the Literature topic,” Kim Tuyen shared.

According to Kim Tuyen, after completing the exam, she found it worth her time to review, because this year's questions were mostly within the basic curriculum.

For example, the Math exam from question 1 to question 25 is easy, from question 25-30 will be a bit more difficult. From 30-50 you need to think more. Kim Tuyen has not dared to check the score since yesterday but it will probably be on a 5 point scale.

“I think I will pass my wish to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. Because I have set a goal and I will strive towards it,” Kim Tuyen said.

Candidates are confident and hopeful about the graduation exam results (Exam score of Tran Van On Secondary School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

According to Kim Tuyen, this year the Ministry of Education and Training has set questions that are not too difficult and have high differentiation. Kim Tuyen hopes that the standard scores of universities will not be too high so that all students will pass their desired wishes.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thanh Thang, Le Thi Hong Gam High School shared: "From yesterday until now, I have been doing the test comfortably, my spirit is also very comfortable so I do not feel pressured. I did averagely well on the subjects, probably around 6-7 points."

“I was most impressed with the Math exam, and also the Literature exam. I have studied Math several times and have learned it the same way, but there are still some difficult questions and some good ones. I can do Literature, but it is a bit hit-and-miss. Social subjects are easy, if you memorize a little bit and think, it is fine,” Thanh Thang added.

According to many teachers in Ho Chi Minh City, in general, this year's high school exam is suitable for students' ability and has differentiation for universities to consider, especially in Math.

Commenting on the Math exam, Master Le Thanh Phuc, Head of the Math Department, Bui Thi Xuan High School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City said: The 2024 Math exam is very stable in structure compared to recent years, quite similar to the 2024 reference exam and the 2023 official exam of the Ministry of Education and Training in terms of level and classification.

This year's Math exam has few strange questions but there are difficult and very difficult questions. The differentiation of the exam starts with question number 40. For average students, it is easy to get 6-7 points.

From question 45 onwards is difficult and from question 48 onwards is very difficult, these are questions really for good students. Specifically (Exam code 105): Achieving 6.6-7.6 points will be very common, corresponding to the first 38 questions being very basic, suitable for graduation assessment goals; to achieve 7.8-8.6 points, students need to have good academic performance.

To get 8.8-10 points, the questions are differentiated, including high-level application questions, students must be really good and have practiced a lot to be able to do them. Some questions are also quite strange to students, requiring them to flexibly use knowledge from many specialized areas to handle them.

For students who want to achieve 9.6-10 points, it is very very difficult, suitable for university admission. It is predicted that 7.6 points will be very common and 10 points will be very difficult to achieve.

Commenting on the Physics exam, Mr. Bui Manh Tan, Head of the Physics Department, Bui Thi Xuan High School, said that the structure of this year's exam still follows the same spirit, structure and level of differentiation as the 2023 exam. The questions are arranged from easy to difficult, mainly grade 12 knowledge. This year, the grade 11 program only takes 2 theoretical questions and has no exercises.

In terms of content and level, from question 1 to question 32, the level is easy, students can easily complete these questions. From question 33 to question 35, the level of difficulty is increased, good and excellent students can solve them within their ability.

Meanwhile, from question 36 to question 40, these are 5 high-level application questions, distributed in 5 contents: spring pendulum, mechanical wave interference, light wave interference, alternating current and nuclear. It is predicted that the Physics score spectrum will focus mostly on the range of 7.5 to 9 points.
