18-year-old contestant from Ha Tinh won the Hanoi Singing Contest

On the evening of October 28, the final round of the Hanoi Singing Contest organized by Hanoi Radio and Television took place at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace with the participation of 12 contestants competing in 3 music genres: Chamber Music, Folk Music and Light Music, in addition, each contestant competed with 1 song about Hanoi.

Contestant Tran Thi Van Anh won the championship of Hanoi Singing Contest.

After 2 rounds of the Final night, Hanoi Singing has found the Champion, Tran Thi Van Anh - Candidate No. 345 (18 years old, Ha Tinh).

Van Anh competed in the Folk music category and sang the song May Xu Doai ( composed by Sy Thang) in the theme of Hanoi. Tran Thi Van Anh is the youngest contestant in this year's competition. Hanoi Singing is the first professional music competition that Van Anh has participated in.

Second Prizes went to contestants Ho Van Khanh (candidate number 439) in the light music category, Nguyen Huu Trung (candidate number 428) in the chamber music category, and Mai Thu Huong (candidate number 466) in the folk music category.

The contestants won prizes at the competition.

Third Prize went to contestants Ninh Trinh Quang Minh (SBD 303) competing in the Light Music category, Pham Minh Hieu (SBD 034) competing in the Folk Music category, and Bui Phuong Khanh Thy (SBD 072) competing in the Light Music category.

The award for the contestant who performed the song Hanoi best was given to Trinh Thi Quynh Anh (SBD 083). The award for the contestant with the most impressive performance style was given to Vu Quang Thien (SBD 487). The award for the contestant with the most impressive voice was given to Pham Thi Huyen (SBD 120).

The Most Promising Contestant Award was given to Duong Ngoc Anh (SBD 478). The Contestant Award with the highest number of audience votes on the Hanoi On platform went to Pham Anh Linh (SBD 438).

This year’s competition is considered to have high professional quality thanks to the participation and companionship of famous artists and singers as judges, coaches and guests. These are all names that have been active for many years and have extensive experience in the music industry in Vietnam.

Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Head of the contest's Organizing Committee, Deputy General Director, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, shared about the journey to find the Champion of the contest after 13 years of absence: "Through the rounds, I personally and the Organizing Committee of Hanoi Singing were very surprised at the quantity and quality of the contestants, which far exceeded initial expectations.

This is also really difficult and regrettable for the judges in choosing the candidates to continue after each round because the scores of the candidates do not differ much, reflecting the even quality of the candidates.

Head of the Organizing Committee Le Thi Anh Mai added : "With the promising young faces discovered through the contest, Hanoi Radio will continue to accompany the contestants with opportunities to perform in art programs and major events organized by the Station and the City, helping them accumulate more experience and stage confidence.

Our highest goal is that through this competition we hope to discover and nurture many musical talents, thereby creating a new generation of quality, professional artists, contributing to improving the musical aesthetics in the spiritual life of Hanoians.

This is one of the important goals of Resolution 09 of the Hanoi Party Committee on developing cultural industry. It is also the concretization of the cultural development program - building elegant and civilized Hanoians".

Hanoi Singing has ended but the echoes still remain. Many contestants not only proved their abilities when participating in a big competition but also gradually asserted themselves before the audience and, most importantly, their efforts on the artistic path.
