The champion of Hanoi Singing Contest lost his father at the age of 4 and had to sell tofu at the market.

Tran Van Anh became known to the audience after winning the Hanoi Singing Contest. After winning the title, Van Anh cherished the idea of releasing a music product to mark her professional artistic journey. She chose the song Nho cha by musician Tuan Phuong, composed from the poem by Dau Hoai Thanh to dedicate to her deceased father.

The 18-year-old singer shared that she lost her father when she was just over 4 years old after a traffic accident. Her memories of her father are not many in her young memory. Later, her mother often told Tran Van Anh that he loved his youngest daughter the most.

Since that day, Tran Van Anh's family of four relied on each other to survive. Tran Van Anh also had two older brothers. The family was poor and struggling, Tran Van Anh's mother had to do all kinds of jobs to earn a living and raise her children.

"In the past, I remember my mother did many jobs, everything from weaving nets, salting fish, making fish sauce, making tofu... Feeling sorry for my mother's hard work, when I was little, I still followed my mother to get up early to make tofu and then go to the market to sell with her, only after selling it did I go back to school. Even though my family had a hard time back then, I loved it because the whole family lived together very affectionately, and until now we are still together like that," Tran Van Anh said.

Although she loves her mother very much, Tran Van Anh's first MV is not for her mother but for her deceased father. Tran Van Anh confided: "I want to tell everyone about a part of my memories in this MV, about how I miss my father and how I long for a father. I know my father loves and cherishes me very much, but he doesn't have the chance to be with his children, he must be very sad. I made this MV to send to my father up there, hoping he will be happy to see his daughter's initial success."

Since the day Tran Van Anh’s father passed away, her mother raised her children alone, never thinking about remarrying. Tran Van Anh confessed that when she was little, she didn’t want her mother to have a boyfriend. Her mother was young, beautiful, and many people looked at her, but little Tran Van Anh at that time firmly reacted to everyone who came to her mother because she was afraid of… losing her mother.

Now, when she is more mature and understands her mother's hardships, Tran Van Anh wants her mother to have a boyfriend to keep her company.
