Civil service exam in Thua Thien Hue: Even the provincial chairman cannot intervene

Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the province is organizing the 2024 civil servant recruitment exam to work at provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts, towns and Hue city.

Specifically, Thua Thien Hue province is recruiting 20 specialists in the fields of economics - finance, construction engineering, agriculture and rural development, culture - society.

This exam had 244 candidates taking part, going through 2 rounds of multiple choice test and professional interview.

On July 28, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Civil Servant Recruitment Council held the opening ceremony of the 2024 civil servant recruitment exam. In the first round, candidates took a computer-based multiple-choice test in two subjects: general knowledge and English.

According to Mr. Giang, the first round of competition was conducted seriously and fairly, supervised by an independent unit, thereby finding 50 excellent candidates to enter the next round.

Candidates who pass the first round will continue to the second round in the form of interviews on specialized professional subjects.

The content of the test is to test knowledge about the Party's guidelines and policies, laws on the industry and field being recruited; and the civil servant's public service performance skills according to the requirements of the job position being recruited.

In order to select a team of civil servants with virtue and talent, meeting the requirements and tasks set out, the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province requested units to uphold their sense of responsibility, strengthen close coordination during the exam organization process to ensure the exam is safe, fair, objective, and in accordance with regulations.

Mr. Giang affirmed that no one can influence or change the results of the contest, not even the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee can intervene.
