Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 (Vinh Phuc) has just announced a project to organize an independent entrance exam for admission in 2025. This is the third Pedagogical University to have its own entrance exam, after Hanoi Pedagogical University and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the plan, the school will organize exams in Literature, Math, English, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography. Except for Literature, which is a multiple-choice test combined with essay, the other subjects are all multiple-choice. Regarding the test time, Literature and Math will take place in 90 minutes, while the remaining subjects will take 60 minutes.
The test is designed to assess competency, with questions linked to meaningful contexts. The content closely follows the 2018 general education program, mainly for grade 12.
The test question types are: multiple choice; true-false; matching item with correct answer; short answer.
Explaining the decision to hold its own exams, the school said that 2025 would be the first year of students graduating under the new curriculum. Students will study from multiple sets of textbooks, focusing on assessing their qualities and abilities, requiring a radical change in the admissions process.
The project clearly states that with the open and specific admission method, the school's project will recruit candidates with the capacity and qualities suitable to the requirements of the training industry.
In 2025, Hanoi National University of Education 2 plans to enroll students by the following methods: direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; considering academic records; based on high school graduation exam results; results of capacity assessment exams of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City; results of the school's independent exam.
Last year, the school's benchmark score based on graduation exam results ranged from 15.35 to 28.83 for a combination of three subjects, the highest being History Pedagogy and Literature Pedagogy.
With the method of considering transcripts, the highest is still Literature Pedagogy with 29.8 points, Mathematics Pedagogy with 29.63. Many other majors have scores above 29 points.
