In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi increased nearly 500 quotas for specialized 10th grade.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will have 4 specialized high schools, including: Hanoi - Amsterdam, Chu Van An, Nguyen Hue and Son Tay. The total enrollment target for grade 10 of the 4 specialized high schools is 78 classes with 2,730 students.

Compared to the previous school year, the total enrollment quota for grade 10 of specialized schools increased by nearly 500 students, equivalent to 14 specialized classes. In the 2024-2025 school year, 4 specialized high schools were assigned 2,240 specialized quotas by the Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training.

Of which, Son Tay High School for the Gifted increased its enrollment the most, from 315 students to 525 students, equivalent to 6 specialized classes. Chu Van An High School for the Gifted increased its enrollment by 4 specialized classes with 135 students...

Notably, this year, two specialized high schools, Chu Van An and Son Tay, will no longer enroll students in public grade 10 as in previous years, but will only enroll students in specialized grade 10.

Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam will be held on June 7-8 with three exams: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. Students applying to specialized schools will take an additional specialized subject exam on June 9.
