Sharing about the significance of the tournament, Head of the delegation Vu Duc Thinh emphasized: “This tournament not only helps athletes gain more experience in international competitions, but also serves as a step to review the force and evaluate direct opponents before the 33rd SEA Games, scheduled to be held at the end of this year also in Thailand. Through this, we have recorded strong teams in the region such as the Philippines or the host country Thailand”.
Notably, the entire budget for this tournament was mobilized from socialized sources by the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation. This is a clear demonstration of the increasingly close cooperation between sports and the business community, creating practical conditions for athletes to compete and mature.
It is expected that on April 12, the Vietnamese Kickboxing team will return home after a journey full of effort and glory in Thailand. According to Decision No. 180/QD-TDTTVN issued by the Department of Physical Training and Sports on April 1, 2025, this is the official international competition trip of the national team in the preparation plan for key tournaments of the year.
The victory at the 1st World Kickboxing Cup is not only the result of the individual efforts of each athlete, but also the result of a systematic training strategy, closely linked between the Federation, the coaching staff and the support of the whole society. Vietnamese Kickboxing has been and is reaching new heights, continuing to affirm its strength in the international arena.
