Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden is known as home to hundreds of stray cats, which have become an indispensable part of the place.
These cats are cared for by staff and fed regularly by residents. Veterinarians also monitor their health to ensure they do not affect the animal ecosystem in the area.
Cats are everywhere in the zoo, from small cages to wild animals, living peacefully alongside other animals. Some cats even become “stars”, like Mika – the “cage leader” in the bear area.
However, recently, some social media accounts have spread information that the Zoo uses wild cats as food for crocodiles.
Faced with this false information, the management of the Zoo quickly spoke out to deny it, affirming that this was an act of slander. The unit is carrying out legal procedures to handle accounts spreading false information, including accounts that re-share this content.
Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden calls on people to immediately notify the unit when discovering similar false information so that it can be handled promptly.
According to Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden, this is a necessary action to protect the reputation of the unit and ensure a healthy information environment in cyberspace.
