Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the Director of the City Police to preside over and coordinate with the Chairman of the Thanh Tri District People's Committee and related units to focus on overcoming the consequences, urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire and explosion, clarify the responsibilities of organizations and individuals, and handle them according to legal regulations (if any).

Assign the Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with the Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee and related units to visit, encourage, and provide material and spiritual support to the victim's family according to regulations.
Assign the Directors of the units: Department of Health, City Police, Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee according to their assigned functions and tasks to ensure hygiene and environment in the area where the fire and explosion occurred; direct medical facilities to provide the best care for victims being treated at medical facilities, and report to the City People's Committee to direct issues beyond their authority according to regulations.
On the same day, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City Pham Anh Tuan visited and encouraged Mai Van Yen, born in 1988, a victim of the fire that occurred in Dong hamlet, Van Dien village, Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district, who is currently being treated at the National Burn Institute. He was accompanied by representatives of leaders and departments and organizations of Thanh Tri district.
Visiting and encouraging Mr. Mai Van Yen, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City Pham Anh Tuan shared the loss and pain caused by the fire and wished the victims peace of mind during treatment, to overcome the pain soon, and to recover quickly. The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City also wished the team of doctors, nurses and hospital staff to create the best conditions for the treatment of the patients.
According to information from the People's Committee of Tu Hiep commune, at about 5:40 p.m. on October 26, the People's Committee of the commune received a report of a fire at the scrap collection shed of Mr. Mai Van Yen's family, in Van Dien village, Tu Hiep commune.
Immediately after receiving the news, the commune police force and the local fire fighting team were present at the scene, coordinating with the Thanh Tri District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Team and 2 fire trucks supported by the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 5 - Department PC07 to handle the fire.
By around 6pm the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, preventing it from spreading to surrounding areas and houses. Mr. Mai Van Yen escaped but was severely burned. However, the fire spread quickly, collapsing the door of the house, trapping Mr. Yen's wife and two children inside and causing their deaths. Mr. Yen suffered severe burns and was taken to the National Institute of Burns for emergency treatment.
Tu Hiep Commune People's Committee said that the fire area was about 40m2, which was the temporary scrap purchasing shed of Mr. Mai Van Yen's family. Damaged materials and goods included scrap, old utensils, etc. Currently, the security and order situation in the area where the fire occurred is guaranteed. Tu Hiep Commune Police are coordinating with Thanh Tri District Police to protect the scene to investigate, verify and clarify.
According to a quick report from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Tri district, immediately after the incident, district leaders came to encourage, visit and assigned the People's Committee of Tu Hiep commune to coordinate with the families to bury the deceased victims and take care of the injured while the family in the countryside had not arrived yet.
