Wagner gunmen shot down a Russian military helicopter as it opened fire on a convoy of forces advancing into Rostov province, Yevgeny Prigozhin said.
"A helicopter just exploded. It was shot down by Wagner units," Yevgeny Prigozhin said, without providing details about where the Russian helicopter was shot down.

Wagner units - which have been leading the offensive in eastern Ukraine for months - have entered the Rostov region of southern Russia, according to commander Yevgeny Prigozhin.
On June 23, Russia's Anti-Terrorism Committee said that Yevgeny Prigozhin is under investigation for allegedly supporting a mutiny against the government.
Russia's decision to open an investigation came after the private military group Wagner announced that its training camp had been hit by a missile attack, causing heavy casualties. Mr Prigozhin accused the Russian military of being behind the attack and vowed to retaliate.
Hours before announcing the attack on the Wagner training camp, Prigozhin posted a video accusing the Russian military of withdrawing from several bases in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, and claiming that the Russian Defense Ministry had passed on false reports about the war situation to President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on June 23 that all messages and videos circulating on social media about the attack on the Wagner group's rear base "are untrue and provocative."
