Previously, on the night of February 21, on Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Bao Loc City, the working group of the Traffic Police - Order Team, Bao Loc City Police and the Mobile Police force of Lam Dong Province Police were on duty to check the alcohol concentration of drivers participating in traffic according to the plan. Discovering Nguyen Vu Nhat Quang (44 years old), residing in Ward 2, Bao Loc City, driving a motorbike with signs of suspected alcohol concentration violation, they signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection. However, Quang did not comply and drove away.
The working group assigned Senior Lieutenant Doan Nhat Ha, an officer of the Traffic Police - Order Team, City Police and Lieutenant Nguyen Minh Trung, an officer of the Mobile Police Battalion, to use a specialized motorbike to follow the request to stop the vehicle for inspection, but Quang still did not comply.
When arriving at the gate of the house on Mac Dinh Chi street, ward 2, Bao Loc city, Quang told his relatives to drive the motorbike inside the house to hide.
At this time, Lieutenant Ha was holding the motorbike that violated the law when Quang used an iron bar to hit his hand. After attacking Lieutenant Ha, Quang continued to drive the motorbike into the house and locked the door, not complying with the requests of the task force.
Upon receiving the report, the leaders of Bao Loc City Police directed the professional force to investigate and clarify the incident. The result of the breath alcohol test of Quang was 0.378 mg/liter of breath.
Quang's act of resisting law enforcement officers caused Lieutenant Ha to break his left forearm and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment. He is currently being transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for surgery and treatment.
