On the morning of January 25, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) informed that the Bac Giang Provincial Police had tracked down the driver of the pickup truck that crashed into a police motorbike to pass the alcohol concentration check point .

Specifically, at around 8:28 p.m. on January 24, the Traffic Police Team of the Traffic Police - Public Order of Tan Yen District Police stopped a pickup truck with license plate 29H-551.XX traveling from Quang Tien Commune - Nha Nam Town (Bac Giang Province) to check for alcohol violations. However, the driver did not obey the order to stop the car and drove straight into the Working Group, injuring Lieutenant NVT. During the escape, the car crashed into a police patrol motorbike and dragged it, causing sparks on the road.

After fleeing 5km, the driver abandoned the vehicle and left the scene at Giua village (Tan Trung commune, Tan Yen district).

At 2:30 a.m. on January 25, driver HQT (43 years old, residing in Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province) went to Tan Yen district police station to present himself. At the police station, driver HQT said that he had drunk about 5 glasses of alcohol since noon.

Through inspection, driver T. did not violate alcohol concentration and did not use drugs.

Currently, Tan Yen District Police (Bac Giang Provincial Police) are investigating and clarifying the incident.

Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on January 21, the working group of the Traffic Police - Public Order Team of Vinh City Police (Nghe An Province) signaled to stop a car with license plate 37K-270.XX driven by Mr. PCD. (42 years old) to check the alcohol concentration. However, the driver did not comply and turned the car around, driving in the opposite direction on Tran Phu Street.

The task force approached the car and signaled for it to stop, but the driver still did not comply and even rushed straight at the officer standing in front. Luckily, the task force was able to avoid the car from coming towards them.

While driving in the wrong direction, driver D. drove through many streets in Vinh city. The task force controlled the subject on Chu Van An street and brought him to the headquarters for questioning.

The alcohol test results showed that driver D. violated the level of 0.399 mg/L of breath.

Just 2 weeks ago, in Hanoi, driver PNS (37 years old) drove his car over Captain NVT to avoid an alcohol test.

Specifically, at around 8:00 p.m. on January 7, the Working Group of Soc Son District Police handled traffic violations and checked alcohol concentration on Route 35 (Village 3, Hong Ky Commune).

Upon seeing the task force, the driver of the car with license plate 30G-730.XX suddenly turned around and ran over Captain NVT who was standing on the left side of the car. As a result, Captain T. suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Immediately afterwards, Soc Son District Police quickly took Captain T. to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital for emergency treatment and directed a working group to clarify the suspect who caused the accident.

At the police station, the PNS driver confessed to his actions. The working group examined and tested his blood, showing that the driver's blood alcohol concentration was 0.083 mmol/l.

Organizing year-end parties increases the number of people violating alcohol concentration

Speaking to VietNamNet reporters, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that at the end of the year, many individuals and organizations... hold year-end parties, leading to an increase in the number of drivers violating alcohol levels. To minimize traffic accidents and strictly handle violations, the Traffic Police force arranges forces and vehicles to persistently handle violations of alcohol levels.

"We persistently handle violations of alcohol concentration according to the principle of respecting the law, resolutely handling without restricted areas or exceptions," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.

During the 10 peak days (from January 11 to January 21) to ensure traffic safety and order during the Lunar New Year and spring festivals, the national traffic police force handled 30,491 cases of drivers violating alcohol concentration.

Regarding cases of resistance to authorities at alcohol concentration checkpoints, a representative of the Traffic Police Department affirmed that the authorities will resolutely handle them.

"In the spirit of the rule of law, anyone who violates the law will be severely punished to create deterrence," emphasized the representative of the Traffic Police Department.

In the coming time, to ensure smooth traffic and safety for people traveling during the Lunar New Year and spring festivals in 2024, the traffic police force nationwide will increase patrols, control and strictly handle behaviors that are the main causes of traffic accidents.
