"Why is it that my friend's child in district A, district B, district C... has had the admission results, they have gone to the step of "confirming admission" but my child still hasn't seen anything?", is the most common question among parents at this time.

Parents of HTH (permanent residence in Ward 9, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) continuously visit the online enrollment portal of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn) to see if their child has been assigned to a school yet, but they have not seen any, so they are even more impatient when they see parents in District 4 boasting that they "already know the school their child attends".

EACH DISTRICT HAS A DIFFERENT ANNOUNCEMENT DATE

On the morning of June 26, a representative of the District 4 Department of Education and Training said that from May 12 to June 5, parents will check information and register their children at the electronic enrollment portal https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn. From June 6 to 15, the District 4 Department of Education and Training will assign routes for children. From June 19 to 23, parents will check the enrollment results. If they agree with the enrollment results, they will confirm their enrollment on the enrollment software. If they are not accepted, parents will register their children in the second round (from June 24 to July 14). In the past, there were also some missing or incorrect records. Parents contacted the kindergarten where their children were studying or the ward People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training and received support. "Up to now, 74.97% of the applications have been confirmed by parents for admission. The rest will be registered for the second round," said this representative.

According to the announcement of the People's Committee of District 1, from June 24, the District 1 Admissions Steering Committee will base on the plan to mobilize children to attend classes and enroll students in the first grade classes along with the district's enrollment data on the system to allocate study places. It is expected that on July 6, District 1 will announce the admission results of advanced and internationally integrated schools. For the remaining schools, the district's enrollment committee will announce the results on July 17.

Meanwhile, according to the admission instructions of the Department of Education and Training of District 8, parents can officially register for first grade admission from June 10 to 5 p.m. on June 23. Admission results will be announced from June 24 to July 15 at advanced, internationally integrated schools. From July 16 to August 1, results will be considered and announced at all schools in the district.

In District 5, from June 24, the District 5 Admissions Steering Committee will base on the admissions data on the system to allocate schools, then send the list to the District 5 Department of Education and Training before June 27 to enter data into the admissions system. From July 3 to 14, District 5 will guide parents to access the admissions system of the Department of Education and Training to see the results of the first grade admission (if they do not register, the application is invalid).

Each district has its own first grade enrollment plan, so the time to announce results is different.

PARENTS, DON'T BE IMPRESSED

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Vo Thien Cang, Head of Examination and Quality Control Department of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that each district, Thu Duc City (HCMC) has a plan for primary school admission with different time frames for announcing admission results. The plan has been widely announced, with specific instructions to schools, teachers, and parents through many channels.

Ho Chi Minh City has 81,007 out of 114,354 first grade admission applications with complete information, parents have looked up and confirmed, accounting for about 70.84%. There are 33,347 applications that have not been confirmed by parents, of which 7,985 applications are missing information.

According to Mr. Cang, parents with children entering grade 1 should not be impatient. At this time, some districts have reached the step of registering to confirm enrollment, but some districts are still in the process of dividing the routes and have not announced the results. "If you have any questions or are unclear, parents can directly contact the enrollment steering committee of the districts, towns, and Thu Duc City where they reside to get the most secure information," said Mr. Cang.

According to the document on the time frame for the 2023-2024 school year enrollment registration plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, parents officially register their children for grade 1 enrollment according to the enrollment plan and instructions of the Departments of Education and Training of districts and Thu Duc City. The admission results are announced on the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training's electronic enrollment information portal. The expected time to announce the results for advanced and internationally integrated schools is July 15. The time to announce the results for the whole city for all levels is August 1.

T ARE NOT IN KINDERGARTEN; DOES NOT HAVE AN IDENTIFICATION CODE TO ENTER GRADE 1, HOW?

The Department of Education and Training of District 4 said that children who do not have a personal identification number should contact the Department of Education and Training, which will issue a temporary code for the child; children who have not yet attended preschool and those who have missed out on registration should contact the People's Committee of the ward where they live to update the list and register information on the enrollment system.

The Department of Education and Training of District 8 has also announced instructions on 6 steps for online registration for primary school admission. Accordingly, from August 2 to 5:00 p.m. on August 6, parents can register for the second round of admission for those who do not have an identification code, children who have not attended preschool, and those who have not passed the entrance exam and do not agree with the results of the first round of admission.
