According to the leader of the Go Vap District People's Committee, there are currently 135 cases on the list of affected areas for clearance, with a total reclaimed area of more than 24,000 m2 and compensation costs of more than 350 billion VND. To carry out the clearance soon, the district has prepared accommodation to help people whose homes were cleared at Khang Gia apartment building (Ward 14) to resettle soon. Thereby, the clearance will be completed soon to hand over the site to the investor to start the project in August 2024.
In Binh Thanh district, in October 2023, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh Dung - representative of the project investor, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that site clearance in this locality will be difficult because nearly 1,800 households and organizations will be affected.
Up to now, this district has only planned to arrange 300 land plots and resettlement apartments. In the coming period, Ho Chi Minh City will build a resettlement area at land plot No. 4 Phan Chu Trinh (Ward 12), an area of 12 hectares, with a scale of 850 apartments to carry out the resettlement. Therefore, the land in Binh Thanh district is expected to be handed over by April 2025 to start construction packages.
In particular, the Xuyen Tam canal project, nearly 9 km long, through Binh Thanh and Go Vap districts, has been cherished for 20 years. This project has been approved by the city with a total investment of more than VND 9,600 billion from the budget, to be implemented in the period of 2023-2028.
The project includes a main canal nearly 6.7 km long from Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal to Vam Thuat river and three branches over 2.2 km long (Son bridge, Binh Trieu and Binh Loi branches). Xuyen Tam canal will be dredged to a depth of 3.5 m, 20-30 m wide with a synchronous wastewater and rainwater collection system. Roads will be built on both banks, each with two lanes 6 m wide, sidewalks 3-4 m wide, along with parks, green areas; lighting system...
Along with the canal renovation, the items connecting to the bridges across the route such as: Bach Dang, Dinh Bo Linh, Bui Dinh Tuy, Chu Van An, Rach Lang are also invested to ensure synchronization. In addition, within the scope of the canal renovation and infrastructure construction project, Ho Chi Minh City also reserved about 11 hectares to build parks and green areas. The lighting system and technical trenches are also installed synchronously.
