The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City has just proposed to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee a number of contents to ensure land fund and resettlement housing when the state reclaims land in the city.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, one of the main causes and also the biggest difficulty of localities today is the lack of land and housing funds to arrange resettlement for households, which greatly affects the work of compensation, support, resettlement, as well as the progress of handing over the project implementation site.

The North Bank of Doi Canal project arranges resettlement in 8 different residential land and housing areas in District 8, Binh Tan District, Tan Phu District and Binh Chanh District.

Specifically, in Nha Be district in the past, due to the lack of land fund and resettlement housing to arrange for projects in the area, all were balanced and arranged from the land fund and apartments in District 7.

At the same time, for other districts, when implementing compensation, support and resettlement projects, it is also necessary to balance the land and housing funds in other localities.

It is noteworthy that key and urgent projects are implementing compensation, support and resettlement work due to lack of residential land and housing funds, so it is necessary to balance and arrange residential land and resettlement housing funds in different localities.

The Xuyen Tam canal project arranges resettlement in 16 different residential land and housing areas in Binh Thanh district, district 10, district 12 and Thu Duc city.

Therefore, this agency recommends that the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issue a document directing the Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Committee and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of 21 districts to proactively lead and direct the review of vacant land, public land funds, and land being leased for improper or ineffective use in the area to report to the city.

In which, propose to establish and implement resettlement projects or report and propose other solutions to ensure sufficient land fund and resettlement housing for projects in the area before carrying out land acquisition.

In addition, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposed to assign the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to report and submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to issue regulations on procedures for establishing and implementing resettlement projects to unify for local implementation.
