The basis for the sports industry to build the list of proposals is the content of Circular No. 01 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on regulations on standards for rewarding athletes and coaches with outstanding achievements at international sports competitions, issued in 2015. Accordingly, track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh was proposed to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal for winning 4 Olympic gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games. Track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Huyen with 3 gold medals (including 1 individual gold medal, 2 relay gold medals), 1 silver medal, was proposed to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

The swimming team has 3 athletes proposed to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal, including Nguyen Huy Hoang (3 gold medals including 2 individual gold medals and 1 relay gold medal, 1 bronze medal); Tran Hung Nguyen (3 gold medals including 2 individual gold medals, 1 relay gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal); Pham Thanh Bao (2 individual gold medals, broke 2 SEA Games records).

Swimmer Pham Thanh Bao won 2 gold medals, broke 2 SEA Games records and received 130 million VND.

Pham Tien San won the gold medal in the two combined events and received 45 million VND, Phuong Trinh won the silver medal in the two combined events for women and received 25 million VND.

Vietnam women's basketball team won gold medal in 3x3 event, received 270 million VND in prize, including 180 million VND for 4 players Nguyen Thi Tieu Duy, Huynh Thi Ngoan, Truong Thao My, Truong Thao Vy

The men's volleyball team won the bronze medal. The amount received was 360 million VND, of which 280 million VND was for 14 players.

The fencing team won 4 gold medals (all team gold medals), 3 silver medals, 3 bronze medals. The total prize money was 1.530 billion VND (including 990 million VND for the athletes, 540 million VND for the coach). The gymnastics team won 4 gold medals (3 individual gold medals, 1 team gold medal with 6 people), 2 silver medals; the total prize money was 810 million VND. The diving team won 1 individual silver medal, the prize money was 50 million VND, including 25 million VND for the athletes and 25 million VND for the coach.

The Vietnamese women's football team won the gold medal, with a total bonus of 1.125 billion VND (including 900 million VND for 20 players, 225 million VND for direct and grassroots coaches). The U.22 Vietnam team won the bronze medal, with a bonus of 500 million VND, including 400 million VND for 20 players, 100 million VND for the coach. Coach Troussier is a foreign expert, so he is not on the list of rewards from the state budget.
