Gradually diversify customer groups
Coming to Tan My beach (Quang Ngan commune) on weekends, the number of visitors swimming and experiencing the sea is quite large. The 12 restaurants and shops serving tourists here are mostly crowded, some of which are operating at full capacity. Mr. Tran Tuat, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngan Commune People's Committee, excitedly said: "Visitors gather on Saturdays and Sundays. There are thousands of visitors each peak day. Compared to 2022, the number of visitors this year has increased about 5 times. In addition to family groups, there are also groups from agencies, units, and schools coming for summer tourism."
Quang Ngan and Quang Cong communes (Quang Dien district) have 12km of coastline with many beautiful beaches, such as Tan My, Cuong Giang, Tan Thanh, An Loc... with moderate depth, clear blue water, and long stretches of white sand. Thanks to the preservation of its wild beauty and many rustic dishes with strong local characteristics, tourists increasingly like to come here, then spread the information to friends and relatives. Ms. Le Thi Hang, owner of Hang beach An Loc restaurant, shared: "My restaurant has only been open since July, with 50 tables. The good thing is that it is not only crowded on weekends but also on weekdays, mainly from outside the area, coming to swim and eat seafood."
According to Mr. Vo Duc Khiem, Vice Chairman of Quang Cong Commune People's Committee, the number of tourists traveling on tours, taking 45-50 seater buses to the beaches of Cuong Giang, Tan Thanh, An Loc is quite large. Compared to previous years, this year the number of tourists has increased by about 5-6 times. Surveys also show that visitors highly appreciate and want to return.
Along with the beaches in Quang Cong and Quang Ngan communes of Quang Dien district, Hai Duong beach (Hue city) is also crowded with visitors on weekends. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, a tourist, shared: "This place has beautiful rocky beaches and seas suitable for taking check-in photos, good service, so my family and I like to come here."
In recent times, to attract tourists, localities have focused on investing in infrastructure and service quality. Quang Dien district alone has implemented many solutions to exploit and promote the strengths of the sea in tourism development. Mr. Nguyen Huu Truyen, Chairman of Quang Cong Commune People's Committee, informed that from resources, the district has invested in facilities and technical infrastructure to serve the development of services and tourism, such as: expanding and renewing some roads, building welcome gates, tourist parking lots, building guardhouses to ensure safety when tourists swim in the sea; leveling the ground, rearranging shops and creating conditions to open more businesses to promote services, in order to meet the needs of tourists. A number of homestay accommodation establishments have been invested in to serve the accommodation needs of tourists.
Mr. Hoang Huu Dat, owner of Lang Ruoc - Ruoc Village resort, said that since operating since April 2023, the number of guests staying here is quite large. Guests shared the reason why they like the beaches here because the sea is clean and beautiful, the food is delicious and cheap. Compared to many other beaches, the price of food services here is quite affordable, both guests and locals pay the same price. In addition, some beaches also have a policy of free parking, fresh water showers and changing rooms...
The development of sea tourism on the beaches here not only brings tourism revenue but also creates valuable effects. Fishermen at sea also conveniently sell fresh seafood to customers without going through traders, many local workers have more jobs.
Expand and improve service quality
The positive signs of sea tourism in the northern region create opportunities for localities here to attract investment, expand and improve service quality to attract more visitors.
Vice Chairman of Quang Ngan Commune People's Committee Tran Tuat said that investment in development and ensuring services to retain visitors are always carried out in parallel. As the number of visitors increases, food safety, environmental sanitation, and visitor safety must be given more attention. The locality has established self-management teams to inspect and ensure the safety of visitors and advise people to swim in safe sea areas and not to swim when there are big waves. In addition, warning buoys have been arranged. The district and commune's interdisciplinary inspection team has also inspected and guided businesses to complete all procedures, from business licenses, health check-ups, and food safety certificates. Appropriate prices are posted and visitors are served attentively. Garbage collection services are also carried out periodically, and the locality has launched the "Green Sunday" movement to clean up the sea.
Localities also encourage people to boldly invest in infrastructure, develop services and tourism to serve tourists more and more diversely and richly, creating satisfaction for tourists when visiting, experiencing and using tourism products and services; communicating and behaving in a civilized and polite manner; preserving the landscape and environment. According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Cong Commune, Vo Duc Khiem, the local policy is to prioritize people in the commune to open services, develop livelihoods and increase income. In addition, it will also call for investment to improve service quality.
