Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City dialogues with planning officials

On the afternoon of September 18, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to directly dialogue with planning and appointed officials for the 2020-2025 term.

According to the report presented at the conference, the Department's key staff has been continuously improved in terms of both quality and quantity, professional qualifications, working capacity, public ethics and sense of responsibility.

From 2020 to present, the Department has newly appointed 50 cases; transferred and appointed 84 cases; reappointed 47 cases; completed personnel of Party committees of Party cells and grassroots Party committees...

Of which, 13 cadres from specialized departments were transferred to the grassroots level; 7 cadres from the grassroots level were transferred to specialized departments.

The work of mobilizing and appointing cadres at the Department is carried out strictly and according to the process. The Department regularly adds young cadres who are well-trained in professional and technical skills at the grassroots level; creating conditions for cadres to accumulate knowledge, experience and approach the work of the planned position.

At the same time, the Department's leaders have rearranged and reassigned work for staff, in accordance with their qualifications and abilities, in order to better promote their ability to perform tasks; overcome localism in each agency, complacency, lack of effort to study and strive to improve...

At the conference, the organizing committee received 27 comments from the grassroots and 22 delegates spoke directly. The comments revolved around issues such as: Advantages and difficulties when being transferred and appointed; difficulties in the process of receiving work and performing current tasks; advantages and difficulties in the process of striving to consider promotion and appointment...

According to Mr. Le Van Thinh, Party Secretary, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, most of the delegates' opinions said that they were arranged appropriately, promoted their expertise and strengths, and had a better working environment. Those who were planned always strived their best and completed their assigned tasks well...

However, units still face difficulties due to the need to streamline the apparatus, and the work each person is responsible for is increasing. The industry’s requirement is to shorten the time in handling administrative procedures; enhance the effectiveness of management and operation at units that manage subjects…

According to Mr. Thinh, the above requirements somewhat put pressure on the staff in performing their duties.

Regarding the remaining problems, Mr. Thinh said that the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Department's Board of Directors have acknowledged and will study solutions to make reasonable adjustments to improve the quality of the industry's operations in the coming time.
