Hanoi Department of Education and Training will not perform, but will instead share and support the victims of the apartment fire.

On the morning of September 14, the summary conference of the Hanoi Education Trade Union canceled the art program and changed it to an activity to share and support the victims of the fire in Khuong Ha, Thanh Xuan district.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training canceled the conference performance to raise funds for victims of the apartment fire in Khuong Ha.

According to initial statistics from the authorities, 1 teacher and 29 students were victims of the fire on the night of September 12 at house number 37, alley 29/70, Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district. Of these, 10 students unfortunately died. This is a great loss for the education sector of the capital.

This morning, as planned, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the activities of the Hanoi Education Trade Union in the 2022-2023 school year and deploy tasks for the 2023-2024 school year. However, following the direction of the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the organizing committee decided to cancel the art program to welcome the conference even though it had been prepared.

Before starting the conference, sharing the grief over this loss, the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and officials and teachers of the Education Trade Union observed a minute of silence to remember the victims of the fire.

At the same time, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also launched a campaign to support the victims. According to statistics up to 10:00 a.m. on September 14, the amount of support from delegates attending the conference was nearly 180 million VND.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 13, leaders of the Department of Education and Training, together with the Hanoi Education Trade Union, the Thanh Xuan District Education and Training Department and the principals of several schools directly visited, encouraged and shared with the families of the students and teachers involved.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, also directed the Thanh Xuan District Department of Education and Training and the school to continue reviewing cases of officials, teachers, staff and students related to this fire.

In the case of the deceased student, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has assigned the Trade Union and directed the Thanh Xuan District Department of Education and Training and other units to visit and arrange funeral arrangements with the family. For the students being treated in the hospital and the injured teacher, the Department and other units will visit, encourage and provide timely support.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has also directed schools to assign teachers to support and tutor students with minor injuries who may be psychologically affected.
