With skillful hands and artistic thinking, from simple materials and tools, in recent days, more than 20 volunteer students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture have coordinated with Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union to "give new clothes" to the old, mossy walls on Le Duan Street, Tuy Hoa City.
Famous tourist destinations of the "yellow flowers and green grass" land such as Ganh Da Dia, Nghinh Phong tower, Ganh Den lighthouse, Mui Dien, Nhan tower... have been recreated by students on the walls.
Tran Triet Vi (first-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture) said he was in Tuy Hoa City at the end of July 2024 to participate in the school's Green Summer volunteer campaign in Phu Yen.
According to Vi, painting the wall starts from about 2pm to 8pm every day to avoid hot weather.
"We prime with a layer of white paint, then use acrylic paint to paint, and when finished, we apply a layer of clear paint to protect the color over time. All the strokes are taken care of as much as possible," Vi said.
Dong Thi Thuy Vy (4th year student) added more about the work: "We came up with all the ideas and sent them to Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union for approval and comments before starting to draw. The group of architecture students combined many images of famous tourist destinations in Phu Yen, then interlaced them together to create a painting that spans more than 20 walls."

Looking at the newly painted walls, Ms. Le Hoai Phuc (35 years old, living in Tuy Hoa City) expressed her delight when many famous tourist destinations of her hometown were displayed in an eye-catching and vivid way.
"It's really beautiful, this could be a new highlight of Tuy Hoa City in the future. I think not only locals but also tourists from everywhere will come here to check-in," Ms. Phuc confided.
Mr. Vo Duy Kha - Deputy Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union - said that not only is it a voluntary activity of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, the "new coat" of many walls in Tuy Hoa City also contributes to promoting the tourism image of Tuy Hoa City in particular and Phu Yen Province in general.
"This is a very creative and practical activity. During the process of the students' implementation, Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union always fully supported and created all conditions for them to complete the project as soon as possible" - Mr. Kha said.
