On August 29, 2023, Huawei Vietnam and the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) announced the closing of the 8th season of the “Seeds for the Future” program. Accordingly, the program recognized 40 outstanding students who completed the training program, met graduation requirements and received certification from Huawei Vietnam.

The top four students will visit Huawei's state-of-the-art Shenzhen headquarters, attend the six-day Seeds for the Future 2023 conference in Shanghai, and win a ticket to the global Tech4Good competition with a chance to win a $100,000 startup prize and a Startup Sprint premium training program in China.

The “Seeds for the Future 2023” program enables students to explore the latest technological advances in 5G, AI, Cloud, Digital Energy... through the online learning platform Seeds Academy and visit Huawei's latest technology exhibition center.

Participating in the program, students had access to a multicultural learning environment, online exchanges with international friends from Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Korea, etc. Within the framework of the program, students also met with industry experts, listened to sharing to upgrade soft skills, ready to participate in the digital labor market in the future.

In particular, students learned about many aspects of the field of cyber security through an exchange with Vice President of the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA), Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, a leading expert in the field of cyber security with over 20 years of experience.

Huawei Vietnam and VDCA also created opportunities for students to visit and interact with Sconnect - a leading enterprise in Vietnam in the MMO field, in the top 10 leading companies in animation production and business on social networking platforms.

Students learned about many aspects of cybersecurity through an exchange with VNISA Vice President Ngo Tuan Anh.

During the program, students were divided into groups to develop projects to participate in the Tech4Good competition, applying ICT to solve pressing environmental and social problems, from idea generation to market launch.

At the closing ceremony, representatives of 3 student groups also presented Tech4Good projects with the following topics: Using IOT devices to protect brain signals and improve sleep quality; Using ChatBot to assess human mental health, thereby introducing third-party health care services, supporting the reduction of the number of people with mental illness over the age of 24; Using AI to support mountain climbers.

Students were divided into groups to build projects to participate in the Tech4Good competition, applying ICT to solve pressing environmental and social problems, from idea generation to market launch.

In addition to 40 students receiving certificates of completion of the training program, the special program found 4 outstanding students with the highest individual total scores: Mai Vo Phuc Thanh and Pham Anh Quan (VinUniversity); Dao Xuan Bac (FPT University) and Nguyen Quang Huy (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology - PTIT).

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the program, Mr. Macky Zhang, General Director of Huawei Vietnam shared: “After the 8th season with 40 excellent students receiving certificates, we are very happy to see the talents, passion for learning and dedication to technology of young people. This motivates us to create more attractive activities to support the training and development of talents, helping Vietnam become the digital talent center of the region in the future.”

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of VDCA also shared: “With 40 excellent students completing the course – an impressive number, more than the expected number of 25 students that the program proposed. This result demonstrates the increasingly strong support and acceptance of talented Vietnamese students to the program”.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong said that information and communication technology is currently entering every corner of social life. New technologies such as AI, Bigdata, Cloud, IoT, Blockchain are developing strongly. Technology students are witnessing and participating directly in that development process. Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong hopes that students will contribute to the country's technology worthy of the expectations of the "Seeds for the Future" program.

Attending the closing ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Anh, Deputy Director of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), also recognized the values ​​that the program has brought to the students: “The world is developing rapidly, requiring all of us to be prepared with digital knowledge and experience. PTIT is the school with the most students selected to participate in the Seeds for the Future program.

Participating in the program has provided our students with valuable opportunities to access and improve the latest knowledge and skills in ICT, as well as gain additional experience to support their future career path. I believe that the students participating in the program will be ICT experts in the future, contributing to filling the digital gap and supporting the development of Vietnam's digital economy."
