According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (June 23), the heat wave in the North will end.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen continues to be hot, with some places experiencing particularly severe heat with the highest temperature of 35-38 degrees, some places over 39 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 40-55%.
On June 24, the heat wave in the Central region gradually eased, remaining in the area from Nghe An to Phu Yen with temperatures of 35-37 degrees, some places over 38 degrees. By June 25, the heat wave in this area continued to decrease.
Today, the North will end the hot weather when thunderstorms appear, even in mountainous areas there will be very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, in some places over 70mm.
Notably, from this evening until tomorrow, in the North and Thanh Hoa, there will begin to be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, some places will have very heavy rain with rainfall of 40-100mm, some places over 120mm.
From tomorrow night to the night of June 25, this area will continue to receive rain with an amount of 60-100mm, some places over 150mm. From June 26, heavy rain in the North and Thanh Hoa will tend to decrease gradually.
The meteorological agency noted that heavy rains should be watched out for the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; beware of heavy rains in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
In addition, the Central Highlands and the South will continue to have sunny weather during the day and the possibility of thunderstorms in the evening.
