Tran Manh Tuan is one of the rare artists who witnessed the last days of musician Trinh Cong Son.
Tran Manh Tuan shared that he has a special relationship with musician Trinh Cong Son's family. Since the musician passed away, Tran Manh Tuan has been assigned to be the music director for major programs and always uses the sound of the trumpet to remember the talented musician.
"24 years ago, when he knew he was about to leave this world, musician Trinh Cong Son called me to his house to say goodbye. At that time, I was renting a room a few steps away from his house. I witnessed the last days of this talented musician's life," artist Tran Manh Tuan shared.
Therefore, every year, no matter how busy they are, artist Tran Manh Tuan and his wife come to burn incense on the anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's death: "In 2021, the stroke made me think I had no chance to return to my profession. I had to practice moving my fingers step by step to make my joints flexible, practice breathing every day like a newbie. There is only one thing I don't need to learn again, which is Trinh Cong Son's music."
Artist Tran Manh Tuan was very moved when he was invited to perform in the music night Do You Still Remember or Have You Forgotten organized by the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater. Commemorating the 24th anniversary of the death of musician Trinh Cong Son.
The music night is edited and directed by People's Artist Tran Binh, directed by Meritorious Artist Quynh Trang - Director of the Contemporary Arts Theater, with the participation of saxophone artist Tran Manh Tuan, People's Artist Thanh Lam, singers Duc Tuan, Bui Lan Huong, Minh Thu, Lo Thuy, Tuan Hiep. In particular, two young artists The Thien (niece of musician Trinh Cong Son) and rapper Tlinh will attend.
