Launching the Working Group to promote cooperation between Da Nang and the United States

DNO - On June 25, the City People's Committee held the launching ceremony of the Da Nang - US Cooperation Promotion Working Group.

Attending the event were US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Susan Burns; Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh and leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

The Da Nang - US cooperation promotion working group is led by the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh as Head of the Working Group; Director of the City Department of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Xuan Binh as Deputy Head of the Working Group and representatives of the following Departments: Finance; Planning and Investment; Information and Communications; Science and Technology; Investment Promotion and Support Board; High-tech Park and Industrial Parks, and the Da Nang Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research.

On the US side, US Consul General Susan Burns is the Head of the Group, Head of the Political Section, Deputy Head of the Group and members are the Head of the Economic Section; Director of the Office; Foreign Attaché; representative of AmCham Da Nang.

The US - Da Nang Cooperation Promotion Working Group is responsible for advising the City People's Committee to coordinate with the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to promote cooperation activities between Da Nang City and US partners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh said that today's working session was also an occasion to launch the Da Nang - US Cooperation Promotion Working Group, marking a new step forward in the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

On the basis of the Vietnam - US comprehensive strategic partnership, cooperation between Da Nang city and US partners is increasingly developing in many fields: economy, culture, education, science and technology...

Over the years, the United States has always been an important partner of Da Nang city, in the fields of investment, trade, education and training; official development assistance (ODA) projects and projects of US non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been and are being effectively implemented in Da Nang, contributing to the socio-economic development of Da Nang city.

The establishment of the Da Nang - US Cooperation Promotion Working Group demonstrates the desire of both sides to promote cooperation, exchange information and experience, create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to invest and do business, contributing to promoting the increasingly developing cooperative and friendly relations between Da Nang and the US, especially in the fields of human resource development, investment promotion, innovation, semiconductor technology, digital economy, green growth, and sustainable development.

The working group plays an important role in connecting businesses of both sides, supporting the resolution of difficulties and obstacles in the cooperation process, and at the same time proposing solutions and directions for effective cooperation in the coming time.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh believes that with close cooperation between the two sides, the working group will operate effectively, making an important contribution to promoting the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and the United States, bringing practical benefits to the people and businesses of the two countries.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the US - Da Nang Cooperation Promotion Working Group discussed areas related to "Human resource development - education - training" and "High technology development, innovation, semiconductor industry, digital economy".
