(CLO) Community and rural tourism associated with tea culture in Thai Nguyen province has recently developed dramatically, bringing interesting and impressive experiences, highly appreciated by tourists for its rusticity, rusticity, and richness in national culture. In order to achieve the development of tourism activities, in 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province issued a Plan to organize a Conference to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen tourism in provinces and cities across the country in a professional and effective manner.


Promote cooperation activities to develop tourism

The land known as "The First Famous Tea" has rich natural resources, cultural and human resources, converging many valuable cultural and historical heritages to develop many types and tourism products to meet the diverse needs of tourists.

In recent years, Thai Nguyen tourism activities have improved, developing typical tourism products of the region based on promoting advantages and potentials, creating a good impression in the hearts of tourists.

A highlight of the past year was the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, which issued a Plan to organize conferences to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen tourism in provinces and cities.

Specifically, from August 14, 2024 to August 27, 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Tourism Association, tourist areas, tourist attractions, travel companies of Thai Nguyen province, the Department of Tourism/Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tourism Associations of provinces and cities: Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh to organize conferences to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen tourism.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is in charge of creating video clips about Thai Nguyen tourism, directly introducing Thai Nguyen tourism destinations in conference programs in provinces and cities. At the conferences to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen tourism held in provinces and cities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Tourism Association, tourism businesses, tourist areas and spots of Thai Nguyen have coordinated to introduce and promote the land, people, potential, strengths and tourism products of Thai Nguyen province, bringing delegates and tourists experiences about the land, people, culture and tourism potential of Thai Nguyen.

Thereby strengthening propaganda, promotion, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Thai Nguyen; contributing to linking, promoting investment promotion activities, tourism development cooperation, increasing the number of tourists between provinces and cities with Thai Nguyen in the coming time.

In total, there were over 600 delegates attending the Conferences (including 60 delegates from Departments, branches, reporters from press agencies; 40 delegates from Tourism Associations; over 300 delegates from travel companies; 200 delegates from accommodation establishments).

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen Le Ngoc Linh said that delegates attending the conferences of the provinces and cities directly exchanged and learned about the overview of tourism, tourism strengths, tourism products, and tourist destinations; discussed policies and coordination mechanisms in linking the promotion and sale of tourism products; exchanged information and coordinated the construction of tours, routes and cooperation in tourism exploitation and development; contributed ideas to build products and improve the service quality of tourist areas, points and services in Thai Nguyen province.

The Tourism Association, tourist areas, tourist spots and tourism businesses in Thai Nguyen have received comments and shares from delegates from the provinces; directly exchanged and introduced in depth about tourist destinations, information about cooperation policies and many units have directly linked, coordinated and exchanged cooperation right after the end of the conferences.

There were 18 tourism enterprises, tourist areas and destinations of Thai Nguyen province participating in the conference, actively displaying, promoting, advertising and introducing tourism products, OCOP products, brochures and flyers promoting information about Thai Nguyen tourism, especially introducing tea products and tea culture to delegates at the conferences.

The activities in the program are widely publicized through the press agencies of the Central Government and the provinces and cities where the conference is held, the Thai Nguyen Tourism website, the Smart Tourism Information Portal and digital platform applications...

"After the conference in the provinces and cities, Thai Nguyen tourism has initially received attention from other provinces in connecting tours to tourist areas and destinations of the province. Some survey delegations on tourism development cooperation from the provinces and cities of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh have come to Thai Nguyen to directly learn and sign cooperation agreements with areas, points, and destination businesses of Thai Nguyen", Mr. Le Ngoc Linh emphasized.

Brand positioning for Thai Nguyen tourism

Currently, Thai Nguyen province has been focusing on developing 04 main tourism product lines including: Cultural, spiritual, historical, and origin tourism; Ecological and resort tourism; Community and rural tourism associated with Tea culture; MICE tourism, sports, and adventure cave exploration. With attractive and unique tourism resources and special cultural values, it promises to bring visitors a complete experience journey with full colors of the land and people of Thai Nguyen.

Festivals in Thai Nguyen are imbued with national identity, contributing to preserving and promoting the unique cultural values ​​of the people here.

To ensure that people and tourists can visit and experience safely and civilly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism regularly has documents to coordinate and guide relevant levels, sectors and businesses operating in the tourism sector to strictly implement general provisions of the law.

At the same time, encourage areas and destinations to invest in and renew tourism products; upgrade rooms and suites, instruct receptionists to have polite service attitudes, and participate in tourism stimulus activities by reducing prices on some products and services. On the other hand, service prices at tourist destinations are also publicly listed, with no situation of "ripping off" tourists.

Thereby, creating a good reputation for tourists about the homeland and people of Thai Nguyen. With beautiful natural scenery, many historical relics, meaningful landscapes and the warm and hospitable feelings of the people, it is hoped that Thai Nguyen will be a place that attracts a large number of tourists in 2024 and the following years.

Regarding solutions for tourism development in the coming time, Mr. Le Ngoc Linh - suggested that tourist areas and destinations continue to pay attention to further improving service quality, building tourism stimulus packages, building tours combining travel companies with tourist destinations to provide comprehensive services at the best prices, stimulating the market, and attracting tourists.

In many places in Thai Nguyen province, many traditional cultural features such as language, costumes, folk songs and dances with distinctive cultural identities are still preserved.

Promote propaganda, promotion and propaganda connection, focusing on propaganda on digital platforms and official social networking channels.

Promote cooperation activities in tourism development, build tours connecting with tourist destinations between Thai Nguyen province and other provinces and cities, thereby stimulating two-way demand, promoting connections, and promoting tourism development between provinces and cities.

The total number of tourists during the 4-day holiday (from August 31 to September 3, 2024) visiting tourist areas and attractions in Thai Nguyen province reached 200,050 visitors (an increase of 29% over the same period in 2023: 155,220 visitors; of which, international visitors: 150, domestic visitors: 199,900). The average room occupancy rate reached 50%, some hotels in the center of Thai Nguyen city and some tourist attractions with accommodation services reached 80% - 100% capacity; revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 128 billion VND (an increase of 2.5 times over the same period in 2023: 51.6 billion VND).
