BBK - On June 2, continuing the 5th Session, the 15th National Assembly held a plenary session at the Hall to discuss draft laws related to the activities of the People's Public Security force.

Discussing the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security, delegates highly appreciated the Report on the review of the draft law and agreed on the necessity of promulgating the law.
Commenting on the specific contents of the draft Law, many delegates suggested: It is necessary to assess the impact and have a specific roadmap for the regulation on extending the service age for officers, non-commissioned officers, and police workers; consider the regulation on the service age limit for female police workers and increasing the age by 3 years for female Lieutenant Colonels and 5 years for female Colonels; specify cases of age extension in special cases and cases of early retirement; clearly stipulate the President's decision to promote the rank from Colonel to Major General in cases where there are not enough 3 years of service; propose to add specific regulations on principles, criteria, and standards for achieving outstanding achievements to be promoted to the rank of General before the term in the law or assign the Government to stipulate...
In the afternoon session, after listening to Minister of Public Security To Lam, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Report on the draft Law on Citizen Identification (amended), and listening to Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security Le Tan Toi present the Report on the review of the draft Law on Citizen Identification (amended), the National Assembly discussed the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.
Participating in the discussion, some delegates proposed a comprehensive review of the content of the draft Law to ensure its constitutionality, legality, consistency in the legal system, compatibility with international treaties to which Vietnam is a member and in accordance with draft laws being submitted to the National Assembly such as the Law on Identification, the Law on Electronic Transactions, especially the subjects of granting identity certificates to people of Vietnamese origin of undetermined nationality residing in Vietnam; proposed a review of regulations on the duration of electronic visas to ensure compliance with international treaties and the principle of reciprocity with other countries, attracting tourists; proposed a review and addition of other Deputy Attachés who are granted diplomatic passports to ensure full compliance; proposed to clearly stipulate the address, order and procedures for submitting applications for ordinary passports in the electronic environment and regulations consistent with the draft Law on Electronic Transactions...
According to the meeting agenda, the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security and the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam will be considered and approved by the National Assembly at this meeting./.
