Up to now, communes, wards and towns in the province have completed the ceremony to announce the establishment of villages and residential groups after the merger and renaming according to Resolution 93/NQ-HDND. The ceremony to announce the resolution on the establishment of villages and residential groups (due to the merger) is chaired by the People's Committee at the commune level in the newly established villages and residential groups, ensuring solemnity and economy. The organization and personnel of the villages and residential groups were completed by the localities earlier.
Implementing the streamlining of the grassroots apparatus, by the end of 2024, the province will arrange and merge 670 villages and residential groups that do not meet population standards into 317 villages and residential groups. Thus, Bac Kan will have 939 villages and residential groups, a decrease of 353 villages and residential groups compared to the time before the merger.
In the two previous mergers (2019 and 2021), the whole province reduced 129 villages, residential groups, and sub-areas (reduced from 1,421 villages and groups to 1,292 villages and groups). Arranging and merging villages and residential groups is a correct policy and viewpoint of the Party, the State, and the province, stemming from the requirements of the commune-level administrative system to streamline the apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of commune-level government management in accordance with the reality and development trends of the province./.
