Busy cleaning the house to welcome Tet, this year, Mrs. Trieu Thi Tam's family in Khuoi Dam village, Quang Bach commune, Cho Don district is much happier than in previous years. With the support of the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program, her family was supported to build a new house. In a short time, the house was completed and handed over to the family.

With a family of 6, one child with a disability, life depends mainly on farming. Previously, the old house was degraded but the income was unstable so there were no conditions to build a house. In 2024, Cho Don district and Quang Bach commune implemented a policy to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. With the State's support of 44 million VND, along with her family's money, Ms. Trieu Thi Tam was able to build a solid house before Tet.

She shared, "My grandchildren and I are very happy because this Tet we get to live in a spacious house. I don't know what to say, I just want to thank the Party, the State, the local government and the villagers for helping my family have a new spacious house."

Arriving at Khe Thi 2 village, Nong Ha commune, Cho Moi district, more than 4 months after typhoon Yagi passed, we met Ms. Tran Thi Thanh's family to share about the damage caused by the typhoon. She is one of the people whose house was completely collapsed in the typhoon, and their property was also swept away by typhoon No. 3. The severity of the natural disaster has caused people in the poor hamlet to fall into a tragic situation. With no place to stay, she and her children had to temporarily stay at a neighbor's house, making life extremely difficult. In such difficult circumstances, the attention from the local Party Committee, authorities, organizations, unions and neighbors has become a support for her family. From the support for households affected by typhoon No. 3 from the district Fatherland Front Committee and the support of agencies and units, with a total amount of 70 million VND, Ms. Thanh has had more resources to build a new, spacious and solid level 4 house.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh happily said that in the midst of difficulties, she saw the spirit of sharing between the government and the people become even more united. This year, her family received support to build a house, stabilize their lives, and celebrate Tet in a new house, so she was very happy. With a solid and safe house, the family will no longer have to worry about where to live when natural disasters or storms and floods occur.

In Ngan Son district, promoting the spirit of mutual love, the authorities, departments, branches and organizations at all levels of the district have mobilized resources to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the people. Through the Veterans Association of Hiep Luc commune, the family of veteran Pham Hong Minh, Na Vai village, has access to capital to support the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction to build a new house with more than 40 million VND. He borrowed an additional 40 million VND from the district's Social Policy Bank under Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP on preferential credit policies to implement the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas from 2021 to 2030. Up to now, the house has been completed to prepare for Tet.

As a locality with many difficulties, thanks to support programs, up to now, Pac Nam district has eliminated 650/800 temporary houses. Many families after many years of living in old, dilapidated houses, this Tet now have solidly built houses, and can work and produce with peace of mind. Pac Nam district will continue to focus on this task in the coming time to completely eliminate temporary, dilapidated houses in the area. According to Mr. Dao Duy Hung - Chairman of Pac Nam District People's Committee, the locality has issued a Plan to implement the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district in 2025 in order to promote the strength of the entire political system to compete to successfully achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, and to effectively implement social security policies in the area.

In 2024, implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Bac Kan province provided housing support for 1,818 poor and near-poor households with a total cost of nearly 88 billion VND, of which 264 houses were completed for poor and near-poor households in poor districts under Project 5, the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025; 676 houses were supported for poor households under Project 1, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2025; 197 houses were supported for poor households with housing difficulties from socialized sources; 681 "Great Solidarity" houses were supported from the "For the Poor" Fund, of which 30 billion VND was supported by Bac Ninh province before the launching ceremony of the Central campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

According to the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Kan province, Do Thi Minh Hoa, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Bac Kan province, to implement the Program for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, Bac Kan province has established a 3-level Steering Committee to ensure that the task is carried out continuously, in which the Fatherland Front is assigned as the standing agency. In the past time, with the drastic participation of the political system from the province to the grassroots level, the active participation and support of enterprises, organizations, individuals, philanthropists inside and outside the province, the efforts of the people, the work of supporting families with housing difficulties in the province has achieved many positive results. Thousands of houses have been completed, replacing the old, degraded houses so that people can welcome the new year in solid houses. This will be the motivation for Bac Kan province to continue to effectively implement this task in the coming time with the goal of eliminating nearly 4,000 temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025.

The completion of the houses of love before the Lunar New Year of At Ty is the effort of the Party committees, authorities at all levels, the help of organizations and individuals joining hands to not leave anyone behind, not only bringing a complete Spring but also bringing a belief in a brighter future, because only with "a stable home can one have a successful career"./.
