On Saturday, May 27, the National Assembly continued the 6th working day of the 5th Session at the National Assembly House under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Morning

The National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong. The session was broadcast live on Vietnam National Assembly Television.

Content 2: The National Assembly listened to Minister of Public Security To Lam, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Proposal, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security Le Tan Toi presented the Verification Report on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.

Content 3: The National Assembly listened to Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong present the Report on the proposed National Assembly Supervision Program for 2024.

The National Assembly then discussed this content in the hall. At the discussion session, 15 delegates spoke, in which the delegates basically agreed with the Report of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the proposed National Assembly Supervision Program for 2024; assessed that the Report and the proposed Program had been carefully and elaborately prepared.

In addition, delegates focused on discussing: Innovations in content, implementation methods, and effectiveness of monitoring activities; causes and lessons learned from the practice of conducting monitoring activities in recent times.

Regarding thematic supervision content, some delegates proposed additional areas, such as: Marine economic development, implementation of laws related to seas and islands, national databases, and promulgation of legal documents at the local level (in addition to the 4 topics that the National Assembly Standing Committee suggested delegates choose).

Delegates also proposed a number of contents to continue improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision activities in the coming time, such as: organizing a year-end conference to evaluate the activities of the National Assembly delegation; coordinating and strengthening conditions to ensure supervision activities.

The National Assembly discussed in groups: The draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security; The draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.
