Quang Nam proposes to include 11 small hydropower plants in the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII

Quang Nam province proposed to approve the update and addition of 11 small hydropower projects in the province, with a total capacity of 202.1 MW, to the implementation plan of Power Plan VIII.

Vice Chairman of Quang Nam province, Mr. Phan Thai Binh, has just signed a report to the Prime Minister providing information and data to complete the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII for small hydropower projects in the province.

According to this report, Quang Nam province proposed that the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade consider approving the update and addition of 11 small hydropower projects in the province with a total capacity of 202.1 MW to the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII.

Specific projects include Tak Le hydropower plant with a capacity of 29.5MW; Nuoc Lah 1 hydropower plant with a capacity of 04MW, and Nuoc Lah 1 hydropower plant with a capacity of 07MW.

In addition, there are Tra Leng 1 hydropower plant with a capacity of 12MW, Song Bung 3A with a capacity of 20MW, Tra Leng 2 with a capacity of 18MW, Tra Linh 1 with a capacity of 29.6MW; A Vuong 5 hydropower plant with a capacity of 8MW, Nuoc Che with a capacity of 30MW and Tr'Hy hydropower plant with a capacity of 30MW, An Diem II expansion with a capacity of 14MW.

Quang Nam province also proposed to consider not including in the Implementation Plan small hydropower projects that have been operating and generating electricity, namely Tra Linh 2 hydropower plant with a capacity of 27MW and Nuoc Buu hydropower plant with a capacity of 12.8MW with a total capacity of 39.80MW. Add to the Plan small hydropower projects that are carrying out investment procedures, namely Tak Le, Nuoc Lah 1 and Nuoc Lah 2 with a total capacity of 40.50MW.

Quang Nam province currently has 28 small hydropower projects.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, there are 28 small hydropower projects in the province with a total designed capacity of 440.26 MW.

One of them is Song Bung 6 project, with a capacity of 29MW, belonging to the cascade hydropower planning established, appraised and approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

There are 27 remaining small hydropower projects in the small and medium hydropower planning approved by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade for each phase according to the provisions of law.

Small hydropower projects in Quang Nam province have their planning approved by competent authorities before implementing the construction of the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

All 28 small hydropower projects in Quang Nam province have been granted investment policies.

Up to now, 18 projects have been put into operation with a total designed capacity of 252.16MW. There are 5 projects under construction with a total designed capacity of 115.60MW; 5 projects are carrying out investment procedures to start construction with a total designed capacity of 72.50MW...
