Guangzhou wishes to promote cooperation with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities

At the reception, Deputy Mayor Lai Chi Hong shared that the purpose of this visit to Vietnam includes two main contents.

Firstly, Guangzhou city wishes to learn about the urban railway development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City and the direction of cooperation implementation in the coming time to strengthen cooperation in specific fields, especially in the field of urban railway - a field of strength of Guangzhou.

Second, Guangzhou wants to deepen cooperation in the fields of health, specifically human resource training and import and export of medical equipment. According to Mr. Lai Chi Hong, Guangzhou is one of three medical centers in China with strengths in high-quality medical services and is looking for ways to put into operation medical projects that benefit the people.

During this visit, Deputy Mayor Lai Chi Hong introduced two medical equipment projects related to the treatment of kidney failure patients and mobile ophthalmology treatment equipment with many advantages and wished to bring these two devices to Vietnam to serve the health care work for the people.

Mr. Lai Chi Hong also said that Guangzhou city decided to give the Vietnamese Ministry of Health 100 sets of mobile medical equipment to treat kidney failure patients with the hope that patients in remote areas of Vietnam can access high-quality medical services at reasonable prices.

Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung said that Ho Chi Minh City and Guangzhou have established friendly and cooperative relations since 1996 and the two sides have carried out many exciting cooperation activities, especially in the last two years. At the same time, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung believes that with their location and development potential, Ho Chi Minh City and Guangzhou will be a pair of Vietnamese-Chinese localities with many similarities to promote cooperation in various fields, including the urban railway sector.

Regarding cooperation in the medical field, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung said that Guangzhou's introduction of two medical equipment projects during the visit was very meaningful. Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung highly appreciated the Guangzhou delegation's goodwill to donate machines for Vietnamese people to access and send experts to train and instruct on how to use them.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Deputy Mayor Lai Chi Hong thanked the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou for actively arranging the delegation's program of activities with relevant agencies and localities of Vietnam.

After the reception, Deputy Mayor Lai Chi Hong and Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung, along with the Consular Delegation and businesses in Guangzhou, attended the Guangzhou Railway Industry Promotion Conference 2025.

The conference was held to promote the development of the railway industry in Guangzhou, enhance Guangzhou's position as a railway logistics center and expand cooperation between domestic and international railway enterprises and partners.
