Products increase productivity, quality and competitiveness
According to the Department of Agriculture of Binh Tan district, in the period of 2020-2025, the district has implemented the plan on "Developing the agricultural sector towards applying CNC production, clean agricultural products, ensuring productivity and quality", distributed to each region to produce plants, animals, and varieties suitable to natural conditions.
At the same time, coordinate with provincial departments, branches, centers, institutes, and schools to transfer scientific and technical advances; create agricultural product brands, organize "4-house" linkages, and link with businesses to consume agricultural products for people...
Accordingly, the district gradually produces agricultural products towards safety and quality, maintains the area of high-quality rice seed production, and produces rice cultivated with new techniques.
The rice variety structure has been transformed in the right direction, with an annual rice cultivation area of about 10,500 hectares, of which the area of high-quality rice, resistant to pests and diseases, and resistant to lodging such as OM5451, OM18, OM4900... accounts for 62%, an increase of 12% compared to 2020.
The district also focuses on mechanization in sowing and planting, using cluster seeders in rice production from 2021, implementing a rice cultivation model applying scientific and technical advances to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (1 must, 6 reductions) and the IPHM model...
At the same time, the district promotes the development of agricultural production of vegetables in the direction of applying CNC, safety, ensuring productivity and quality.
Implementing the technique of growing vegetables in greenhouses using a sprinkler irrigation system, which has been replicated by farmers with 44.5 hectares; the melon growing model of NN 620 Joint Stock Company, with a scale of 6.2 hectares; implementing 3 VietGAP sweet potato production models; using new, high-quality varieties on taro; using organic fertilizers and biological products to manage pests on sweet potatoes and watermelons.
At the same time, gradually apply technology in fruit tree production, use organic fertilizers, sprinkler irrigation systems and fruit wrapping techniques: maintain the model of automatic sprinkler irrigation systems on jackfruit, durian, plum, longan...
Producing melons using Israeli drip irrigation technology, Mr. Huynh Phu Loc - Director of NN 620 Joint Stock Company (Tan Thanh Commune, Binh Tan District) said: Developing CNC agriculture is an inevitable trend to increase productivity, quality, create safe products and increase product competitiveness in the market.
Not only that, CNC farming helps farmers save labor, easily manage pests and diseases, and earn many times more profit than traditional production. “Applying modern technology, just need to install software and sensors to use smartphones to “take care” of the garden, humidity and light parameters are also reported via phone applications” - Mr. Loc added.
Growing sweet potatoes according to the IPHM process, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc (Tan Binh commune, Binh Tan district) said: "I apply a comprehensive management process such as crop rotation, healthy seeds, increased use of organic fertilizers and biological products... In particular, the low-density planting model helps potatoes grow and develop better and reduces fertilizer. Thanks to that, potatoes have better productivity and quality, and profits also increase."
Continue to replicate effective models
Ms. Dinh Thi Tuyet Hanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Tan district said: The implementation of CNC agricultural development has gradually changed farmers' farming practices from backward, manual to modern production.
Applying science and technology contributes to improving productivity, product quality, increasing product competitiveness in the market, ensuring safety for consumers. At the same time, through the model of linking production and product consumption, helping people cut down on intermediaries, limiting the situation of people being forced to pay prices, increasing profits for people.
However, according to the district's agricultural sector, there are still many difficulties, such as the need for investment in agricultural development in the direction of applying CNC, producing clean agricultural products, ensuring productivity and quality is very large, but the district's budget is limited, requiring support.
In addition, the project model has been invested and evaluated as effective, but it is still difficult to replicate. Some farmers are still skeptical about developing agriculture applying CNC, so they have not boldly invested in production, which partly affects the results of CNC implementation and application...
Ms. Dinh Thi Tuyet Hanh said: In the coming time, the district's agricultural sector will continue to develop the agricultural sector in the direction of applying CNC production, clean agricultural products, ensuring productivity and quality; promote the construction of growing area codes on watermelon, sweet potatoes, fruit trees and VietGAP certification; develop the district's OCOP products, striving to have 25 OCOP products achieving 3 stars or more by 2025.
At the same time, increase the replication of models that bring high economic benefits; replicate the model of growing vegetables in greenhouses, production models in the direction of VietGAP, organic, biosafety; implement digital transformation models on vegetables, fruit trees, etc.
